April 30, 2024Last Tuesday’s parlay picks would’ve gone exactly as planned had the Rays bullpen not ruined another solid showing from Ryan Pepiot by serving up three runs in the eighth ultimately turning a 2-1 lead into a 4-2 defeat. We cleaned up in the other two games however with the Reds taking it to Christopher Sanchez as expected, and Logan Web tossing another gem by the Bay to lock up the winning night over at Caesars Sportsbook. May the baseball gods be kind with tonight’s parlay leg recommendations – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

New York Yankees vs. Baltimore Orioles
All eyes will be on Camden Yards to kick off the week when the AL East-leading Yankees square off against the O’s in the rival’s first series showdown of the 2024 baseball betting season. The Bronx Bombers invade Baltimore having just erupted for 36 runs in a series win at Milwaukee, while the Orioles just shockingly dropped two of three at home to the A’s to halt the series win streak at three straight. As loaded the home team looks to be on paper with it oozing of young top caliber talent, I’m not 100 percent sold it’s ready to handle its business against a New York outfit that finally looks to be coming around.
Nestor Cortes hasn’t looked dominant in a bulk of his six made starts, but the right-hander is going deep into games and putting the team in a position to win games. Unfortunately, the offense just hasn’t delivered with it giving him a total of five runs over his last two starts. That shouldn’t be the case tonight running up against Dean Kremer whom Aaron Judge (.400/3 HR/4 RBI) and Alex Verdugo (.333/2 HR/6 RBI) have peppered in the past. Look for the Pinstripes to flex their offensive muscles and send the righty to the showers early!

Kansas City Royals vs. Toronto Blue Jays
It’s been tough to watch the Blue Jays go about their business recently. While John Schneider’s troops finally put an end to a five-game losing streak versus the MLB odds on Sunday by taking the series finale from the Dodgers, it’s not like the offense was impressive in doing so. Vlad Guerrero Jr. and co. only managed three runs in that game to enter Monday’s opener averaging a paltry 2.4 runs per game over the last week. Unsurprisingly, the under cashed in all but one of those contests with the lone over only seeing them score a pair of runs in the 12-2 defeat to LA.
While the offense will rediscover its stroke at some point with positive regression bound to hit, I’m not sold on it occurring in this spot against Cole Ragans regardless of this game representing the second time they’ll see his stuff in the last five days. The lefty held the BJs to just three hits and 1 ER in horrendous weather even though the southpaw served up a trio of free passes. Jose Berrios was pretty darn good in that one as well in holding Kansas City to three hits (1 HR) and 2 ER with 3 BB also issued. I expect the pitcher’s duel to pick right back up with Berrios his best at home and Ragans yet to give up a run away from Kauffman through two starts.

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Los Angeles Angels
There’s no hotter team against the MLB betting lines than the Phillies right now with Rob Thomson’s troops kicking butt and taking names en route to being only one of four teams to have amassed 19 overall wins entering the week. Unfortunately, the Braves are another which finds them looking up to Atlanta in the NL East standings. But as well as Bryce Harper and co. are seeing the ball right now, it might only be a matter of time until they surpass them and never look back. Still, there’s a ton of baseball yet to be played with the calendar yet to even turn to May!
I got Philadelphia getting back in the win column in this one with Spencer Turnbull set to square off against Tyler Anderson and what looks to be a horrendously bad Angels outfit. The lefty might be the owner of a 2-3 record and 1.78 ERA, but his FIP clocks in at 4.90 and he’s serving up nearly 4.0 walks per nine innings. On top of that, he’s allowing a career-best 5.6 hits per nine mostly due to a ridiculously low .181 batting average on balls in play (BAbip); his career output is .289! LA is 8-16 (-$700) and average 4.2 runs per game against right-handed pitching. While the Phillies own a losing record against LHP (5-6, -$240), their sticks are too locked in to not back them with Turnbull likely to carve right through LA’s lineup like a warm knife through butter.
