Cincy has a number of bats that possess a number of positive run values against the pitch type per Baseball Savant, and I’m very bullish on the Redlegs getting out of the NL Central basement with the batting lineup getting noticeably healthier in recent weeks. Chicago White Sox vs. Chicago Cubs MLB Same Game Parlay:

Wrigleyville is up in arms about what is going on with the beloved right now. After dropping two of three to the Reds this past weekend, the Cubs find themselves two-games under .500 and a whopping 7.5-games out of first place in the NL Central. This is not how the 2024 MLB betting season was supposed to go! Blame it on upper management for not solving the riddle that has been the bullpen in the offseason, but the players themselves also must look at themselves in the mirror and figure it out already. The Cubs are batting a wretched .228 as a team (#26), and have only launched 58 home runs into the cheap seats (#17). On top of all that, the starting rotation has been below average (#21) while the defense has been a travesty (#23).

I figured those types of outputs would be churned out by their in-state rivals on the south side with the White Sox expected to be one of the worst teams in the league at the season’s outset. While that’s proven to be correct with the team just 15-45 against the MLB odds and down over 2K for anyone crazy enough to back them in every single game, there were no expectations. That’s not the case with the Cubs who are on my fade list until the team can consistently put some winning streaks together.

I have no clue who will and won’t be in the Palehose batting lineup come Hump Day night, but it doesn’t matter. Supposedly Luis Robert Jr. will be returning. Regardless, I have way more confidence in Erick Fedde and his 3.12 ERA and 1.18 WHIP than I do with what Jameson Taillon brings to the table. Honestly, I don’t care who is pitching for the Northsiders right now. The Cubs don’t deserve to be laying any type of chalk as bad an all-around brand of ball the team is currently playing.
