Memorial Tournament Odds and Picks
June 4, 2024Caesars Palace Heats Up Summer’s Arrival with June Bonus Action
June 5, 2024Last Thursday was extremely odd for my MLB parlay picks. Justin Verlander ended up getting pushed up a day in the Astros rotation and threw at the Mariners Wednesday night instead. He threw seven sterling innings against Seattle to crush his total outs recorded prop. The next day, Houston got to Logan Gilbert for eight hits (2 HR) and 4 ER through his six innings and won in shutout fashion. So in essence, we cashed all three recommended parlay legs, but it took two games to do so. Then 20 or so minutes before first pitch between the Royals and Twins, it was announced Brady Singer was scratched due to an illness. Though Kansas City eclipsed their 3.5-run team total, it let a 4-0 lead get away from them and ultimately lost 7-6 with Chris Paddack just going over his 16.5 total outs recorded prop by logging 5.2 innings. Hopefully all recommended parlay legs for this Thursday have action over at Caesars Sportsbook – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

Chicago Cubs vs. Cincinnati Reds MLB Same Game Parlay:
We got involved with this NL Central rivalry last weekend at Wrigley Field, and the bankroll fattened up nicely because of it. With that, I have absolutely no issues jumping back into the pool and backing what I deem to be the team playing a much better brand of ball that looks to be on the upswing. Chicago will get there at some point. Hopefully it won’t be too late as diehard a Cubs fan I am. But money talks and the Redlegs are still in the genesis of their comeback bid to take down NL Central bragging rights. Currently 9-games in back of the front running Brew Crew, there’s still plenty of season left for David Bell’s troops to make a run. They’ve begun to do just that having cashed in against the MLB odds in seven of their last 10 games ($535) with series wins logged against the Dodgers and Cubs.
Though Hunter Greene ultimately took a no decision in his last turn at Wrigley against Chicago, that game was wacky to say the least. Seiya Suzuki accounted for seven runs all by his lonesome thanks to a 3-run fielding error and hitting a grand slam. The game was played in a driving rainstorm throughout which played a role in the righty issuing five free passes. Save for the early-game wildness and surrendering the bases clearing moonshot, Greene looked calm and composed on the bump and seriously looks to be coming into his own.
I’ve never truly bought into the whole Javier Assad phenomenon, and firmly expect there to be some extremely rough showings on the horizon for the right-hander. Assad has only conceded 7.0 hits per nine innings, a career best, and benefitted from an absurd .256 batting average on balls in play (BAbip). He’s surrendered a number of fly ball outs in recent starts, and I foresee that coming back to bite him in the launching pad that is the GAB where he’s shined through two career starts in allowing no earned runs through 13.1 total innings with an 11:2 K/BB ratio. Not this time! Cincy’s bats have heated up while Chicago’s are still stuck in neutral.

Boston Red Sox vs. Chicago White Sox MLB Same Game Parlay:
Get your popcorn ready and get psyched about the pitching masterclass were all about to witness on Thursday night when Tanner Houck and Garret Crochet square off in the first game of the extended series between the Boston Red Sox and Chicago White Sox. The BoSox’ right-hander is all of a sudden a major player in the AL Cy Young Award race with Caesars shortening his odds to win it all the way down to 11-1 after logging his fifth win of the season at home against Detroit. He limited the Tigers to just three hits and 1 ER through seven strong innings all the while racking up 6 K to a pair of walks. Houck looks to be in the midst of his breakout campaign having pitched to a 1.85 ERA and 0.962 WHIP that’s backed by a stellar 2.16 FIP. Everything about this kid has been off the charts good over at Pitcher List, and it’s likely he only adds to the impressive outputs against a Chicago offense ranked dead last overall in averaging 2.8 runs per game while going down on strikes at a 23.4% clip (#22).
The White Sox have won 15 of their first 60 games. Garrett Crochet has accounted for 33% of those triumphs against the MLB odds, boasting a 5-5 record with a 3.49 ERA and 0.93 WHIP in 13 starts. Opponents are hitting just .194 against him, and he excels at home with a 2.50 ERA, 0.86 WHIP, and .176 batting average against. The Boston Red Sox are 6-10 (-$580) against left-handed pitchers, averaging 3.3 runs per game (#26). Their offense also struggles with strikeouts (#28), making them a prime target for a pitcher like Crochet, who is averaging 12.0 K/9. This sets up a potentially favorable matchup for Crochet in what looks to be the best starting pitching duel on Thursday’s baseball betting slate.
