June 13, 2024MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Monday, June 17
June 14, 2024The conclusion of the first United Football League season happens on Sunday when conference winners meet for the UFL Championship. The game will actually pit two of the top teams in the league with the Birmingham Stallions looking to wrap up their magical season with another spring football title. The Stallions rallied to beat Michigan, 31-18, in the USFL Conference championship and go for their third straight championship after claiming USFL titles the previous two years. The Stallions covered the UFL point spread for the first time in three meetings with the Panthers ending a streak of four straight losses as a UFL pick against the spread.
The Stallion’s only loss came back in Week 9 of the regular season to the team they’ll be facing on Sunday. The San Antonio Brahmas went 7-3 during the season and had a difficult task going on the road to face the St. Louis Battlehawks in the XFL Conference championship. The Brahmas lost both regular season matchups but won outright, 25-15, as a 3-point underdog last week. San Antonio hasn’t allowed more than 18 points in any of its last eight games cashing the UNDER on the UFL odds total in every game. Birmingham was the UFL betting line favorite in each of its games so why change things up now. Playing at a neutral site the Stallions opened as a 3-point favorite on the early line at Caesars Sportsbook.

UFL Championship Game Parlay Picks
I’ve got one last chance this season to get it right so I better make my UFL picks and parlay count. I felt good about my chances last week backing Michigan at +5. They played a pair of close games during the season and it looked good for a while with the Panthers racing to an 18-3 lead. They had to settle for too many field goals, though, and I said at the time that it was going to cost them. Birmingham closed the game on a 28-0 spurt to win 31-18. St. Louis has the best home field advantage in the league and the Battlehawks were 5-0 heading into last week’s conference title game. I backed the home team -3, but San Antonio flashed the D holding STL to 239 total yards to earn a 25-15 victory. I did hit one leg of my three-bet parlay with the game going UNDER the UFL odds total of 44.5.
Birmingham Stallions -3
San Antonio / Birmingham UNDER 41.5

Even the best teams can slump on occasion, and it appeared as though Birmingham was tiptoeing through the last month of the regular season with those four games all decided by nine points or less. The 9-point game was actually the one they lost to San Antonio when the Stallions scored a season-low in the 18-9 contest in which they were an 8-point UFL point spread favorite. They scored at least 20 points in every other game. Birmingham woke from its slumber in the second half of last week’s game scoring 28 unanswered points after falling behind 18-3.
Having an edge at the most important position is huge and it’s probably why the Stallions have just one loss. Adrian Martinez was named UFL MVP after leading the league in rushing with 528 yards while also throwing for 1,749 yards and 15 TDs. However, after committing two turnovers last week, Martinez was replaced by Matt Corral, who threw the go-ahead scoring pass in the fourth quarter. Corral finished 9 of 11 for 120 yards and the two TDs. It’s not unusual for the Stallions to swap QBs and the fact that Martinez was yanked will have no bearing on the offense. And that’s why I’m backing the Stallions as my UFL pick against the spread.
San Antonio’s defense will keep them in the game, but I don’t think they have enough offensive firepower to beat Birmingham again. The Brahmas allowed fewer than 20 points in all but one of their 11 games. They led the UFL in fewest yards allowed (256.7), fewest points allowed (15.3) and sacks (32), and they continued that trend last week limiting St. Louis to 239 yards and 4.3 yards per play.
Birmingham’s defense is also strong finishing second to San Antonio in all three categories during the regular season. The Brahmas have cashed the UNDER in eight straight games and 10 of 11 for the year. I’m not sure that trend is going to end so backing the UNDER again looks like a UFL best bet.
