NFL Coach of the Year Odds and Picks
June 18, 2024LIV Golf Nashville Odds and Picks
June 19, 2024If you think that there would be a letdown in the quality of golf this week after last week’s U.S. Open you might be surprised. The Travelers Championship gets underway on Thursday in Connecticut and it is the last Signature Event of the season and that means a $20 million dollar prize purse and a strong field. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is listed as the favorite at Caesars at odds of +360. PGA Championship winner Xander Schauffele is next with odds of +700. Last week’s U.S. Open runner-up, Rory McIlroy withdrew on Monday. Scheffler and Schauffele are well clear of the third choice in the betting odds, Collin Morikawa who is listed at +1000. Let’s look at Travelers Championship odds and picks.
Check out the latest Travelers Championship odds at Caesars.
Venue: TPC River Highlands is a par 70 that measures 6,835 yards. It is one of the shortest courses on the PGA Tour.
Last Year: Keegan Bradley built a big lead and held on in the final round, shooting 3-over par in his final six holes. He still set the tournament record, shooting 23-under par. Zac Blair and Brian Harman were three shots back in a tie for second, while Scottie Scheffler, Patrick Cantlay and Chez Reavie tied for fourth place.

Favorite
Scottie Scheffler +333
Another golf betting favorite lost last week and shockingly, this time around it was Scheffler who was never in contention. We say on a weekly basis that golf betting favorites are a losing proposition overall except for Scheffler and last week he couldn’t even come through. I was disappointed in Scheffler’s play last week at the U.S. Open and I heard him talking a little bit about fatigue. I can’t see that playing this week will help in that regard. Scheffler is still good enough to turn it on and win this week, but at these odds he is a pass for me.
Golf Picks
Collin Morikawa +1000
I will come right back and take Morikawa this week. Scheffler has won four of the last five Signature events, but I said above that I think fatigue may be a real factor for him again this week. Morikawa has been playing well on short courses like this week’s par 70 that is under 7,000 yards. He is also putting well, ranking in the Top 15 in Strokes Gained Putting in his last two events. Half of his six PGA Tour wins have been on Bentgrass/Poa Annua mix putting surfaces, so he should like it this week at TPC River Highlands.
Hideki Matsuyama +2800
We get a nice price on Matsuyama this week and he is a player who thrives on tree-lined courses that are short. His last three wins have come on courses that were not par 72. He has also thrived on Poa Annua greens in the past with two wins. He comes in playing well with top 12 finishes in six of his last eight events.
Tom Kim +5000
It could be time for Kim to get a win and we get a nice price. He does better on courses that are shorter and that is definitely the case this week. Kim is a player who can go low on these types of courses and his approach play of late has been really good.
Matthieu Pavon +12500
Did you know that Pavon is actually in the Top 20 in the latest World Golf Rankings? It is truly insane that his golf betting odds are this high. He has continued to play well and it would not surprise me at all to see him get another win soon. He won the Farmers Insurance Open earlier this year and there is no reason he can’t win this week.Check out the latest Travelers Championship odds at Caesars.
