U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau is listed as the favorite to win this week’s LIV Golf event in Nashville. This will be the ninth event of the LIV season and up to this point it had been Jon Rahm favored to win each event. That is not the case this week, as DeChambeau is listed with LIV Golf Nashville odds of +650 at Caesars, with Joaquin Niemann next at +900 and Rahm at +1100. Tyrrell Hatton is next with odds of +1200, and he is followed by Cameron Smith and Talor Gooch at +1400, Sergio Garcia at +1600 and Louis Oosthuizen at +1800. Perhaps this is the week to take Rahm considering he is not the favorite and golf betting favorites on the LIV Golf Tour have been a disaster. This will be the first time this season that Rahm is not listed as the LIV Golf betting favorite, but he has played well this season but has yet to win on the LIV Golf Tour. Bryson DeChambeau +650
The favorite has lost on the LIV Golf Tour every time this season, as Rahm was favored in all previous events and failed to win. This time it is U.S. Open winner Bryson DeChambeau with that honor. I would be going against the favorite regardless, and in this case going against DeChambeau makes total sense as he is due for a massive letdown after last week.
Golf Picks
Jon Rahm +1100
Can you say overreaction? Rahm has been listed as the favorite every single week in LIV at single-digit odds and now he is 11-1. Count me in. I know Rahm has a toe injury that had been bothering him a bit, but he nearly gave it a go in the U.S. Open and now he has even more time to rest up. This course is one where precision play is rewarded and Rahm is capable of putting up a low score.
Tyrrell Hatton +1200
Hatton has been a fixture in the Top 20 this season on LIV and he ranks third on the tour in putting average and he is 10th in scrambling. He should do well on this Nashville course and we get a decent price.
Talor Gooch +1400
I am surprised that Gooch hasn’t won yet this season. He won three times a year ago and he does have six top 15 finishes this season. He is fifth on the LIV in driving accuracy and 19th in GIR.
Sergio Garcia +1600
We know that Sergio can hit fairways and greens. He is the only player in LIV to be in the top five in driving accuracy and greens in regulation. He is also playing well with a top five finish in two of the last four LIV events and he tied for 12th at the U.S. Open.
Paul Casey +3300
We continue to wait for Paul Casey to deliver a win. He was tied for the lead in Houston and then had a double-bogey on the 12th that ended his chances.
