Heisman Trophy Odds and Picks

Georgia quarterback Carson Beck is listed as the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy this season. It has been a long time since a player from Georgia has won the Heisman, as the last Bulldog to win the award was Herschel Walker in 1982. Beck decided to return for another season in Athens and he is listed as the favorite to win the Heisman at odds of +650 at Caesars.  Beck led the Bulldogs to the National Championship last season and he led the SEC in passing yards. He was third in the country in passing yards behind Michael Penix Jr. and Bo Nix. Listed as the second choice in Heisman odds is Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers at odds of +800. He is followed by Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel at odds of +900. The top two contenders, Beck and Ewers will meet on October 19, as Georgia visits Texas. Favorite

Georgia quarterback Carson Beck is listed as the favorite to win the 2024 Heisman Trophy. He led the Bulldogs to the national championship last season and he will get plenty of chances to impress voters this season, as Georgia faces three other Heisman Trophy contenders, all on the road.

Darkhorse Contenders

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers is listed as the second choice in Heisman odds at Caesars. He looked good late last season and he has an excellent supporting cast and a coaching staff that can put him in position to succeed. The concern with backing Ewers in Heisman odds is his injury history.

Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel first started for Central Florida in 2019. He played three years with the Knights and then went to Oklahoma and spent two years there. He now is a sixth-year senior at Oregon. He goes into a great situation with perhaps the best receiving corps in the country.

Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe won’t have Nick Saban on the sideline but he will have Kalen DeBoer and that is actually good news. DeBoer did wonders with Michael Penix in Washington and he could turn Milroe into a Heisman contender.

Another darkhorse contender is Mississippi quarterback Jaxson Dart. He will be leading perhaps the best Ole Miss team we have seen in a long time. Dart will get a lot of chances to impress voters, as the Rebels face LSU, Oklahoma and Georgia this season.

Heisman Trophy Picks

I usually don’t bet a lot of favorites but I think Beck is in the best spot this season. He can put up big numbers and be in the spotlight on a regular basis. If the Bulldogs go on the road and beat Texas, Alabama and Ole Miss, Beck will have played well and beaten three of the top Heisman contenders. I think Ewers is overvalued at his odds because of his injury history and I don’t like Gabriel at his current odds.
