MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Thursday, August 1
July 30, 2024Olympics Golf Odds and Picks
July 30, 2024We ended up cashing four of six MLB parlay picks at Caesars Sportsbook last Wednesday sweeping the White Sox/Rangers same game parlay and managing a lone hit with Nola after the Phillies coughed one up to the Twins following his departure. Nathan Eovaldi beasted for us once again tossing 7 innings of 2 ER ball with 10 K to earn win No. 6 by leading Texas to the 10-2 romp over Chicago. Philadelphia held a 4-1 lead in the seventh inning, but the bullpen, mainly Matt Strahm, spit the bit to cost the right-hander his 12th win of the MLB betting season. Fingers crossed the pens don’t rear their ugly heads in this week’s edition of Hump Day SGP leg recommendations – SLAM YOUR MAN!!
Reduced juice betting is one of the best ways for any sports bettor to save money and far too many people don’t take advantage of it. If you are not playing at a sportsbook that offers reduced juice betting then you are simply giving away money.

Chicago Cubs vs. Cincinnati Reds MLB Same Game Parlay:
While not out of the question that either the Cubs or Reds make a run at winning the NL Central with 2+ months remaining in the regular season sitting 10-games out, it’s more likely the path to the playoffs would be of the wild-card route for both squads. With that, this three-game set in the GAB is huge for both teams entering Monday’s series opener. Though we faded Kyle Hendricks in his most recent turn at Kansas City and got paid handsomely for doing so, we’ll back “The Professor” in start No. 15 against a Reds outfit that continues to find ways to underperform every passing game. While the same can be said for Chicago, Craig Counsell’s troops showed me something this past weekend taking two of three from Kansas City in Kauffman with the triumphs against the closing MLB odds coming in starts made by Seth Lugo and Cole Ragans.
Nick Lodolo has thrown at Chicago twice this season and logged 12 innings of 3 ER ball with 11 hits allowed (1 HR) while racking up a 10:3 K/BB ratio. Nothing to scoff at no doubt, but he’ll be tested in this third go-round with the Cubs ripping the cover off the ball against left-handed pitching to the tune of a .286 batting average (#5), .756 OPS (#12), and 27 RBI (#9) throughout July. Chicago has been doing its best work of late on the road having come out victorious in seven of its last 10 away from Wrigley Field, so look for the newly acquired Isaac Paredes and Co. to give Hendricks the breathing room needed to do his thing and lead Chicago to the must-have win in the series finale.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Diego Padres MLB Same Game Parlay:
If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em! Ever since Dylan Cease came up huge for us in that July 13 start at home against the Atlanta Braves in which he tossed six innings of shutout ball with 11 K, I for one reason or another decided to fade him against the baseball betting odds in each of his last two starts. I hit the over in his start at Cleveland thinking the Guardians would find a way to get to him at home, but the righty threw seven more innings of shutout ball in the Friars’ 7-0 blanking that came a run short of exceeding the total. Then, I took a stab with Patrick Corbin and the Nats. Though the lefty did his part holding Manny Machado and his mates to 3 ER through seven innings, Cease went on to make history logging the first no-no of his career needing only 114 pitches to do so. You can’t be too upset about losing a bet when history is made; so they say…
Regardless, Cease is in one heck of a groove right now and I fully expect him to be up to the task of taking on the division-leading Dodgers in an attempt to help his club eat into their 6.5-game deficit. While MLB bettors will be out in droves to fade the right-hander due to the bloated pitch counts the righty has recently thrown, I’m expecting San Diego’s lineup to get a heavy dose of LA’s bullpen with Clayton Kershaw set to make his second start against a lineup very familiar with his arsenal. San Diego has crushed the slider and 4-seamer to date per Stat Cast, and it’s batting a robust .293 (#3) with a .844 OPS (#5) against southpaws in the month of July. LA’s injury-riddled offense is yet to see the 2024 version of Cease, and save for Shohei Ohtani and Kike Hernandez, he’s faired extremely well throughout his career against the other bats he’ll stare back at. Look for the Friars to hold serve in the finale of this abbreviated series.
