New York Mets vs. Los Angeles Angels MLB Same Game Parlay:

Let’s close the night in Anaheim, where the Mets will have had a rare off day to prepare for the weekend series with the struggling Angels. Despite a roller-coaster season, New York is currently holding the third and final wild-card spot, an impressive turnaround considering management was close to dismantling the roster a few months ago. There are still plenty of games left, and every win is crucial. After tough matchups against the Yankees, Braves, and Twins, the Mets will likely welcome the chance to face a weaker opponent and capitalize on the opportunity. This game kicks off a 10-game road trip, offering the Mets a chance to solidify their standings with upcoming games against the Cardinals, Rockies, and Mariners.

Tyler Anderson, the ace of the Angels’ rotation, has been a bright spot in an otherwise lackluster pitching staff. He enters his 22nd start with an 8-9 record, a 2.96 ERA, and a .210 batting average against. While he boasts a 2.77 ERA and .209 BAA in night games, he’s been more vulnerable at home, with a 3.88 ERA, allowing 64 hits (10 HR) and 31 ER over 72 innings. Anderson relies heavily on his four-seam fastball at the top of the zone and his changeup at the bottom, but he’ll face a tough challenge against a Mets lineup that excels against these pitches. Stat Cast data shows several Mets’ hitters with high run values against Anderson’s pitch types, suggesting that negative regression is likely. This game presents a prime opportunity for the Mets to take advantage, and send him to the showers early which is why I’ll be staking a run-line position on the baseball betting lines with the expectation that New York busts out the boom sticks.
