MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Saturday, August 3
August 3, 2024CFB Futures – 2024 Notre Dame Fighting Irish Win Total Odds
August 3, 2024We suffered consecutive days in the red with last Monday’s MLB parlay picks after splitting all six recommendations. Zack Wheeler’s odds to win the NL Cy Young Award got shorter at Caesars Sportsbook after the Yankees bludgeoned him through five innings. We managed to cash a single leg in that same game parlay after Luis Gil’s three free passes just went over his 2.5 BB prop. Though Paul Skenes didn’t exceed his K prop, the Pirates gritted out the 5-3 extra innings in win and in the process exceeded their 3.5-run team total. Let’s kick the first full week of August off by taking some back from the sportsbook instead of making another charitable donation – SLAM YOUR MAN!!
Reduced juice betting is one of the best ways for any sports bettor to save money and far too many people don’t take advantage of it. If you are not playing at a sportsbook that offers reduced juice betting then you are simply giving away money.

Minnesota Twins vs. Chicago Cubs MLB Same Game Parlay:
Though they just wrapped an extended four-game series with the hated Cardinals, I expect Craig Counsell’s troops to have enough gas in the tank to get up for the opener of this interleague set with the Twins. MLB bettors have an interesting scenario to dig into in the opener with rookie right-hander David Festa set to square off against veteran right-hander Kyle Hendricks; arguably the least attractive pitching pairing of the series. That being said, I’m calling for some fireworks to be served up with the youngster’s fastball, slider, and change mix falling in direct fire of the three pitch types Chicago has pounded to date going by the Stat Cast data offered up by Baseball Savant. He’s made two starts since getting recalled and only allowed seven hits (2 HR) and 3 ER with a stellar 13:3 K/BB ratio against the Phillies and Mets. I’ll pony up to see how his stuff translates in his first career start at historic Wrigley Field on a hot summer night.
We’ve had success reading spots with Hendricks on the bump of late. We backed him in the ‘Natti last time out, but rode the fade train in his previous start at Kansas City. Since tossing seven shutout innings at St. Louis back on July 12, “The Professor” has allowed 15 hits (4 HR) and 12 ER with a 10:5 K/BB ratio over his last three starts (15 IP). Things went south quickly for the right-hander in all three outings, but he was bailed out by a huge offensive showing last time out. I simply don’t trust him, and with the Twins offense the healthiest it’s been seemingly all year, that blowup inning will ultimately prove to be his demise in a game I foresee the MLB odds victor being decided by the bullpens.

Boston Red Sox vs. Kansas City Royals MLB Same Game Parlay:
It’s Brady Singer Day on Monday night with the right-hander set to make his 23rd start of the MLB betting season. Making it such a wonderful day is that it will occur in the comforts of Kauffman Stadium where the righty has simply been a man amongst boys in going 6-3 with a 2.20 ERA and 71:19 K/BB ratio while holding the opposition to a paltry .195 batting average against. While Boston will serve as possibly his toughest test of the year with the Red Sox batting .264 (#2) and possessing a .776 OPS (#2) against right-handed pitching, I’m steadfast in my desire to back this kid on the baseball betting lines whenever in his home digs. Along with throwing with a chip on his shoulder after Boston peppered him in Fenway back on July 14, the decision to do so becomes a bit more palatable when taking into account the arm he’ll be running up against in this matchup.
James Paxton is washed. There are no ifs, ands or buts about it! The “Big Maple” has been ripped for 31 hits (4 HR) and 20 earned runs in his last five starts spanning 22 total innings. He was already ripped for six hits (1 HR) and six runs (3 ER) in his first start back in Boston’s rotation since the Dodgers handed him his walking papers, and the outlook doesn’t look peachy for this one either. Kansas City is one of the best in the Bigs at teeing off against left-handed pitching evidenced by its .263 batting average (#4) which fattens up to .275 over the last month. Their two big bats, Bobby Witt Jr. and Salvador Perez, clock in a combined 7-for-20 against him lifetime, with a pair of bombs. With each squad in the thick of the AL wild-card hunt, my money will be placed upon Singer and the home team rising to the occasion to set the tone for the series.
