CFB Futures – 2024 Utah Utes Win Total Odds
August 13, 2024FedEx St. Jude Championship Matchup Picks
August 14, 2024I am red hot picking golf winners of late, as I have hit the last three, winning with Jhonattan Vegas at the 3M Open at odds of 45-1, Scottie Scheffler in the Olympics at odds of nearly 4-1 and last week it was Aaron Rai winning the Wyndham Championship at odds of 33-1. I’ll look to stay hot with this week’s FedEx St. Jude Championship. This is the first event in the FedExCup Playoffs with the top 70 players in the FedExCup standings making it into this event. Only the top 50 will make it into next week’s BMW, so the focus will be on players near the bottom of the standings. Scottie Scheffler is listed as the favorite this week at Caesars at odds of +360. He is just ahead of Xander Schauffele who is listed at +700 and then it is Rory McIlroy at +900. Let’s look at FedEx St. Jude Championship odds and picks.
Reduced juice betting is one of the best ways for any sports bettor to save money and far too many people don’t take advantage of it. If you are not playing at a sportsbook that offers reduced juice betting then you are simply giving away money. Check out the latest FedEx St. Jude Championship odds at Caesars.
Venue: TPC Southwind is a par 70 course that measures 7,243 yards. There are 11 holes where water is in play. The fairways are Zeon Zoysiagrass, while the greens are Bermudagrass.
Last Year: Lucas Glover defeated Patrick Cantlay in a playoff. Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood just missed out on the playoff, finishing a shot back, tying for third place. Taylor Moore finished another two shots back in fifth place.

Favorite
Scottie Scheffler +360
It was another favorite not named Scheffler losing last week, as Sungjae Im was never in contention at the Wyndham. I go against favorites on a regular basis except for Scheffler. He has been the only favorite worth backing in golf betting this season. That being said, Scheffler has a great chance to start the TOUR Championship in two weeks with the points lead, so he doesn’t have to win this week. I won’t argue with anyone who takes Scheffler this week, as he is that good, but I am going to roll the dice and not take him.
Golf Picks
Xander Schauffele +700
The top two stats to look at this week are Shots Gained: Approach and Shots Gained: Putting. Do you know the only player who ranks in the Top 10 in both categories on the PGA Tour? Yes, it is Schauffele. He also has the added motivation of trying to gain ground on Scheffler in the standings and the only real way he can do that is to win. I’ll take Schauffele at odds of +700.
Patrick Cantlay +2200
We know that Cantlay is a stud in the FedExCup Playoffs. He has won three FedExCup Playoff events in his career and he finished second in two others. He has played well in the first event finishing in the top 15 a total of five times. He is looking to impress President’s Cup captain Jim Furyk since Cantlay is not guaranteed a spot. Cantlay is playing better of late and I think he can win this week and we get 22-1.
Tommy Fleetwood +2500
It was last week when Aaron Rai got his first PGA Tour win. Could it be Fleetwood this week? Why not? Fleetwood was in the mix in this tournament a year ago and nearly won and he comes in playing well, winning the Silver at the Olympics. Fleetwood needs a good week, as he is not guaranteed to make it to the TOUR Championship in two weeks, as he is 32nd in the FedExCup standings. I’ll take Fleetwood at 25-1.
Tom Kim +3500
I have had Kim a few times this year and he has yet to come through, but he is definitely playing better lately. He was 4th at the RBC Canadian Open and 2nd at the Travelers. He needs to have a good week, as he is 43rd in the FedExCup standings. He has played well at TPC Southwind in the past, as he was 13th in 2022 and he was right in the mix a year ago before falling to 24th. I’ll take a shot with him at these golf betting odds.
Sepp Straka +6000
Straka has done well on Bermudagrass greens in the past with a number of high finishes, including a win at PGA National. He finished 2nd in this event in 2022. He ranks highly in two of the key categories this week and it would not be a surprise to me if he contends this week and we get 60-1.Check out the latest FedEx St. Jude Championship odds at Caesars.
