August 16, 2024MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Saturday, August 17
August 16, 2024Last Monday’s MLB parlay picks produced back-to-back losing days after only managing to cash one of the six recommended legs. Not a single one got us to the ticket window in the Dodgers/Brewers matchup after Clayton Kershaw outdueled Freddy Peralta to lead the visitors to the 5-2 series opening win. We then went on to suffer a tough to swallow defeat with the Giants later in the night after San Francisco came out on the short end of a 1-0 extra inning decision in a game both Chris Sale and Blake Snell went HAM. Thankfully the latter went on to bury his 7.5-K prop with 11 which prevented us from taking the collar. I’ve dug a hole for myself to claw out of at Caesars Sportsbook early on each of the last two weeks. Hopefully tonight’s recommendations put an end to that annoying streak – SLAM YOUR MAN!!
Reduced juice betting is one of the best ways for any sports bettor to save money and far too many people don’t take advantage of it. If you are not playing at a sportsbook that offers reduced juice betting then you are simply giving away money.

Cincinnati Reds vs. Toronto Blue Jays MLB Same Game Parlay:
The question on the minds of all MLB bettors heading into the opener of this three-game set will undoubtedly be where linemakers will set the odds of Hunter Greene puking chunks on the mound for the third time this season. all kidding aside, get the kid some Pepto Bismol and take care of whatever stomach ailment has forced him to let it loose recently! If it was nerves, his overall body of work didn’t indicate as such considering he carved through the St. Louis bats like a warm knife through butter in allowing four hits (1 HR) and 1 ER with 8 K through seven sterling innings of work. After a rocky July, the right-hander has flipped the switch in August evidenced by allowing 11 hits (1 HR) and 4 ER with a 24:4 K/BB ratio over 19 combined innings over three starts.
Now 9-4 with a 2.83 ERA that’s backed by a career-best 3.42 FIP, it looks like Cincinnati possesses a SP1 to call their own for the first time in seemingly forever. If the Redlegs are to be taken as serious options to capture one of the NL’s three wild-card bids, this is a series that must be won running up against a Blue Jays outfit currently bringing up the rear of the AL East standings with the franchise already looking forward to competing against the MLB odds in 2025. Kevin Gausman has been one of the team’s few bright spots in going 11-8 with a 4.20 ERA, but he’s been at his worst in front of the hometown faithful (5.91 ERA) where he’s allowed 76 hits and 46 ER over 70 innings. If his issues spotting the splitter crop up in this one, the Redlegs will hammer his 4-seamer with the pitch type far and away the one a bulk of this lineup has crushed all season. I’ll bank on it tonight and back the Reds young buck with confidence!

Boston Red Sox vs. Houston Astros MLB Same Game Parlay:
The Red Sox were in the midst of an incredible over streak heading into the extended weekend series with the Baltimore Orioles. Rafael Devers and Co. have cashed over tickets against the closing baseball betting lines at a 19-3-1 clip the last 23 times they stepped between the lines. With a familiar foe in Yusei Kikuchi on the bump who they got for seven hits (4 HR) and 5 ER in his lone appearance against them this season while with Toronto, I expect the run of high scoring games to continue.
I get that the Japanese import has been nothing short of stellar since coming over to Houston at the trade deadline, but Boston will prove to be a tougher test than that of the Rays and Rangers who are currently playing extras for the next episode of the Walking Dead sitting 6.5 and 10-games out in the wild-card race, respectively. The BoSox are the first team out of the chase sitting 2-games out. While Tanner Houck seemed to turn a corner last time out against Texas, his stuff still wasn’t crisp with only 3 K and a pair of walks issued through 6.2 innings. Houston just saw him back on August 9, and while he only gave up four hits and an earned run, the “Juice Box” will play much differently should his sweeper and splitter be unable to induce the weak contact it did against the Rangers. I foresee fireworks with each starting hurler getting lit up right from the jump.
