MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Monday, August 19
August 16, 2024MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Sunday, August 18
August 16, 2024We came a single run away from sweeping last Saturday’s MLB parlay picks at Caesars Sportsbook. New York forced Nathan Eovaldi to throw 81 pitches through three innings to easily exceed its 4.5-run team total in the opener of the doubleheader, but the 8-0 shutout came a run short of exceeding the full game total. Gerrit Cole failed to pitch through the sixth inning affording us a ticket cash on the under of his 17.5 outs prop in the second leg of the DH. The nightcap saw Zac Gallen and the D’backs cruise past the struggling Phillies by pounding Aaron Nola and the Philly pen for 11 runs to accrue the dominant one-sided win. Let’s keep adding to the bottom line with another Saturday installment of MLB parlay leg suggestions – SLAM YOUR MAN!!
Reduced juice betting is one of the best ways for any sports bettor to save money and far too many people don’t take advantage of it. If you are not playing at a sportsbook that offers reduced juice betting then you are simply giving away money.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Tampa Bay Rays MLB Same Game Parlay:
We rode Zac Gallen hard on the MLB odds in his last turn at home against the Phillies a week ago to the day, and despite dealing with cramps, he allowed just 1 ER on five hits through 4.1 innings. While the recent issuance of free passes are a concern—14 in his last 28.1 innings—Tampa has struggled mightily against right-handed pitching. Ranking near the bottom of the league ahead of only the Mariners and White Sox overall, and ahead of only the Giants and Angels over the last two weeks, Gallen should be in line for his first quality start since the calendar turned to August.
Jeffrey Springs makes his first career start against the Diamondbacks. He’s been decent since returning from Tommy John surgery, improving with each outing, and enters his fourth start off a strong performance against the Orioles, holding a powerful LHP hitting Baltimore lineup to six hits and 1 ER with a season-high 8 K over five innings. The southpaw has held current bats on Zona’s roster in check leading me to believe we get another solid five inning showing in this spot. Each bullpen has been a top-10 unit over the last two weeks with the Rays clocking in at No. 1 with a 0.85 ERA and 1.4 WAR. Should Springs fail to see the sixth once again, I expect the relievers to continue with the positive regression.

Cleveland Guardians vs. Milwaukee Brewers MLB Same Game Parlay:
Tanner Bibbee enters his 24th start ranked out as the second-most lucrative starting pitcher to back on the baseball betting odds ($1,036) having led the Guardians to wins in 18 of his previous 23 starts. In doing so, he’s logged a 10-4 record with a 3.39 ERA, 1.092 WHIP, and 4.42 K/BB. Backing it all up is a stellar 3.40 FIP that paints a picture of it not being a fluke. He’s been his absolute best away from Progressive as well evidenced by his 2.88 ERA and 22 ER allowed through nearly 69 innings of work. That being said, the Brewers will present him with his toughest challenge since the calendar turned to July with three of his last five starts coming against the weak-hitting Detroit Tigers. Per Stat Cast, Milwaukee tees off on the 4-seamer, slider, and change. Bibee is well overdue for a visit from the negative regression monster, and this spot looks ripe for it to rear its ugly head.
It won’t be all sunshine and rainbows for Milwaukee starter Freddy Peralta either as up and down a campaign 2024 has proven to be for the right-hander. I backed him in his last start against the Dodgers, and he granted me with a greasy pork sandwich served in a dirty ashtray by giving up 4 ER and 2 HR with only 4 K through his 6 IP. His control was erratic which has been the recent theme with the righty serving up 11 walks in his last 22.1 innings. Cleveland has made minced meat of the 4-seamer, slider, and change as well with a number of their bats sporting impressive run values against the pitch types. I don’t foresee either of these starting pitchers long for this one, and fully expect the offenses to put on a clinic in front of a nationally televised audience.
