MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Wednesday, August 21
August 19, 2024MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Thursday, August 22
August 20, 2024The streak of picking winners ended last week at three, as Hideki Matsuyama held off Xander Schauffele for the win. The FedExCup Playoffs continue this week with the BMW Championship in Colorado where World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is again listed as the golf betting favorite. Scheffler is listed with odds of +330 at Caesars. He is just ahead of Xander Schauffele who is listed at +550 and then it is a big gap to Rory McIlroy at +1200. The altitude in Colorado will be a big story, as players will be playing the longest course in PGA Tour history, so the yardage will be long, but the thin air will make it play just like a normal PGA Tour course. Let’s look at BMW Championship odds and picks.
Reduced juice betting is one of the best ways for any sports bettor to save money and far too many people don’t take advantage of it. If you are not playing at a sportsbook that offers reduced juice betting then you are simply giving away money. Check out the latest BMW Championship odds at Caesars.
Venue: Castle Pines Golf Club is a par 72 that measures 8,130 yards. It will be the longest course in PGA Tour history but the ball flies about 10% longer in Colorado, so in reality the course will play about 7,300 yards, which is about the average on the PGA Tour.
Last Year: Viktor Hovland shot a blistering 9-under par round on Sunday to soar past Scottie Scheffler, winning by two shots. Scheffler ended up in a tie for 2nd with Matt Fitzpatrick. Rory McIlroy finished another three shots back in fourth, while Max Homa and Brian Harman tied for fifth.

Favorite
Scottie Scheffler +330
It was another golf betting favorite losing last week and this time it was Scheffler who has been the only player to even consider this season as the betting favorite. Scheffler was not at the top of his game last week and he still nearly won. I said last week it is a roll of the dice to go against Scheffler and I took that chance last week. I am a little more hesitant this week simply for two reasons. First, I expect Scheffler to play better this week and second, there is now a risk for him, as Schauffele can catch him in the FedExCup standings with a win this week. I won’t argue if you take Scheffler this week, but his odds of +330 are a bit too low for me.
Golf Picks
Viktor Hovland +1800
There is no question that Hovland has disappointed this season, as he is winless this year. That being said, he showed signs last week of turning the corner. He had three of his best rounds of the year at the FedEx St. Jude Championship and nearly won. He ranked in the top five in Shots Gained: Off-the-tee, Approach and Tee-to-Green. He is the defending BMW champ and he has a pretty solid record in the past when defending.
Patrick Cantlay +2200
Cantlay is a player who can get hot and shoot low scores and with Scheffler and Schauffele battling it out, that will be needed in Colorado. Cantlay is playing better of late and he has played well in the altitude in the past with good finishes in Las Vegas, Phoenix and Mexico City.
Wyndham Clark +2500
Clark should feel right at home, as he grew up in Denver and has played this course many times. He comes in playing better, as he seems to have found his game again. He likes putting on Poa Annua greens and there are definite similarities between Castle Rock and the L.A. Country Club where Clark won the U.S. Open last year.
Davis Thompson +5500
Is it possible that Thompson is being a bit ignored this week? He ranks right with the top players in the field in total driving and Shots Gained: Approach. We saw last week that a player off the radar can win, as Matsuyama was not a popular pick and I think Thompson fits into that category this week.
Nick Dunlap +7500
Did you watch Dunlap last week? He has already won twice on the PGA Tour this season and he was right in the mix last week in Memphis. Dunlap has played well in altitude before, winning the 2023 U.S. Amateur in Denver. He is player who could move up dramatically in the standings this week with a win.Check out the latest BMW Championship odds at Caesars.
