August 29, 2024Clemson vs. Georgia Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions Recap
We went on to split the same game parlay in the Week 1 college football betting clash between the #14 Clemson Tigers and #1 Georgia Bulldogs. I recommended backing the Tigers plus the points for the first half (+7.5) paired with the over of 48.5-points on the NCAAF odds. Thanks to an offensive pass interference call with only minutes remaining in the first half, Clemson was able to stick within six points at the break with the Dawgs owners of a 6-0 lead. The scoreless first quarter paired with only six points on the board through the first 30 minutes meant we needed a huge second half scoring barrage to have any shot of cashing in both legs. While 31 points ended up being scored over the game’s final 30 minutes, 28 of them were scored by the No. 1 team in the land which ultimately saw the 37 combined points come nowhere close to surpassing the over/under. We ended up with a split, and I’ll give myself some credit for warning that Georgia might figure things out in the second half, which they did after cruising to a 34-3 win and cover as 10.5-point neutral favorites.
Bulldogs QB Carson Beck saw his odds to win the Heisman Trophy at BetMGM Sportsbook move off +900 to +750 after completing 23 of 33 passes for 278 yards and 2 TD without an interception thrown. He spread the ball out to a number of different receivers with eight reeling in at least two receptions. London Humphreys led the way with 63 receiving yards and one of two touchdown receptions in the game. With Trevor Etienne suspended, Nate Frazier led the Dawg’s ground assault with 83 yards and a touchdown scamper on 11 overall carries. It wasn’t a great start to the 2024 college football betting season for Cade Klubnik or the Tigers offense which only managed 189 total yards, failed to score a single touchdown, averaged 2.1 yards per carry, only converted 4 of 13 third down tries, and lost the turnover battle 1:0. Georgia moved to 3-0 SU and against the CFB betting line in the program’s three meetings since 2014 and the under cashing in each of the last two with a paltry average of 25 points hitting the board per game.
Clemson vs. Georgia Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions
The first full slate of the college football betting season is finally upon us! Rejoice college football fans—you’ve earned it! Bust out the grills. Make sure the cooler is stocked. Throw the ball around. Hug your wife and kids and let them know they’ll see you on Saturdays again when the Army/Navy game kicks off on December 14. It’s time to put the woman and children to bed and go looking for dinner, and boy do college football bettors get a good one early Saturday morning when a pair of top-25 teams in the #14 Clemson Tigers and #1 Georgia Bulldogs lock horns in Hotlanta with each program looking to take their respective steps towards qualifying for the expanded College Football Playoff.
These historic football programs ran up against one another back in 2021 in a game Dabo’s kids fell 10-3 as field goal favorites. I don’t foresee the rematch playing to a defensive grinder this time around. Let’s dig into the current NCAAF odds on the board at BetMGM Sportsbook and see if we can’t put together a winning two-leg same game parlay to get what’s going to be an incredible day started off on the right foot.
Reduced juice betting is one of the best ways for any sports bettor to save money and far too many people don’t take advantage of it. If you are not playing at a sportsbook that offers reduced juice betting then you are simply giving away money.

Clemson Tigers vs. Georgia Bulldogs CFB Same Game Parlay:
The Dawgs enter this tilt the +300 odds-on favorite at BetMGM to win the national championship after failing to qualify for the CFP and defend their back-to-back titles a season ago. Kirby Smart’s squad returns 15 starters from last year’s 13-1 team that saw its chances go up in smoke after falling 27-24 to Alabama in the SEC title game. Carson Beck—fresh off throwing for nearly 4,000 yards and 24:6 TD/INT ratio—is back to navigate the offense working behind one of the nation’s best offensive lines.
With Ladd McConkey and Brock Bowers now suiting up on Sundays, he’ll need to find some new targets to routinely get the pigskin to. You’re likely to hear the names of Dominic Lovett and Dillon Bell a ton in this game! With Nate Wiggins no longer patrolling the Tigers’ secondary, I fully expect Georgia to have a grand time of it slinging the ball into a completely revamped Tigers secondary relying on a good amount of youth. There’s no reason to believe the Bulldogs can’t hang a crooked number in this one. Clemson’s defense is not what it once was!
The Tigers will take to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium turf the +275 chalk to win the ACC championship for the eighth time in the last ten years. That being said, they’re only a +175 choice at BetMGM to punch a ticket to the CFP, while only Ohio State is lined a bigger favorite to qualify than the Dawgs (-600). With that, it comes with little surprise to see Clemson taking back a hefty 13.5-points on the current CFB betting lines for this ACC/SEC skirmish.
Is Cade Klubnik the man? The kid showed promise in his sophomore season throwing for 2,800+ yards and 19:9 TD/INT ratio, but exhibited poor judgement with regularity ultimately costing the Tigers a number of games. While running up against a Georgia defense is never fun, now is the time to do so with it breaking in a number of new faces paired with possible suspensions coming down before this game. The Tigers boast a couple stud playmakers of their own in WR Tyler Brown and RB Phil Mafah. As readily able I expect Georgia will put points on the board, I fully expect Clemson to be way up for a little back and forth in a game that plays much higher than the current Over/Under suggests.
Having lost at least two games each of the last four seasons, the luster has started to ware off Dabo’s program with its last CFP appearance coming back in 2021 when it got boat raced by Justin Fields and the Buckeyes in the semis. Clemson must come out quick and let the big bad rep from the SEC know it won’t be pushed around. I expect it to do just that early on to make a game of it. How long that lasts remains to be seen, but we’ll limit the risk and back the Tigers for the first 30 minutes instead of the full game just in case Georgia figures it out and cruises to the win and cover like the No. 1 team in the land should in its season opener. Either way, look for the offenses to be well ahead of the defenses with the secondaries allowing a number of big plays downfield that allows for the over to cash in with plenty of time to spare.
