September 27, 2024Georgia vs. Alabama Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions Recap
I’m still in shock over how poorly the Georgia Bulldogs performed in the first half of last week’s insane 41-34 defeat to the Alabama Crimson Tide in a game that lived up to all the hype—and some! It’s not often that huge games like that meet expectations, but even though we ended up splitting the pair of parlay legs recommended, I can confidently saw the Dawgs and Tide far exceeded them. Jalen Milroe proved to be a one-man wrecking crew early on rushing for a touchdown to open the game’s scoring less than five minutes in, and following it up with a 16-yard touchdown strike to Jam Miller a possession later. Then Alabama hit pay dirt again with two-plus minutes remaining in the first to take what looked to be an insurmountable 21-0 lead. The only good to come out of it was the likelihood that Carson Beck would be able to crush his passing yards prop with the Bulldogs in comeback mode the next three quarters.
Though it took UGA’s QB1 a bit longer to finally get cooking, there was no stopping him once he finally caught fire with the junior shredding the Crimson Tide’s secondary for huge chunk yard gainers that miraculously got the Dawgs back in the game. He threw the first of what would end up being three touchdown passes in the third quarter to cut Bama’s lead to 30-15, and then added two more in the fourth with the final one insanely getting the Dawgs out in front 34-33. By that point, he had already toppled his 244.5 yard prop, but unfortunately, his final pass of the game was picked off in the end zone allowing Alabama to pull out the win and NCAAF odds cover as short home dogs. In failing to lead the Dawgs to the win and his three interceptions playing a role in as to why, Beck’s odds to win the Heisman Trophy fattened up to 24-1 over at Caesars Sportsbook.
Georgia vs. Alabama Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions
All eyes will be on Tuscaloosa Saturday night as the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide hosts the No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs at Bryant-Denny Stadium, marking the first of many showdowns between Kirby Smart and Kalen DeBoer. Ideally, this matchup would take place later in the season, giving fans and college football bettors a clearer sense of what each team brings to the table. Nonetheless, the stakes couldn’t be higher, with CFP implications on the line and over 100,000 passionate fans filling the stadium, creating an electric atmosphere on a September night. Alabama and Georgia are dealing with injuries on both sides of the ball, but each team had two weeks to prepare following bye weeks. The matchup promises to be an intense battle, with both programs gunning for playoff spots and conference dominance. It also doesn’t hurt that revenge will be on the menu—get your popcorn ready!
Though Smart has just one win to his credit through six run-ins against the Tide (2-3-1 ATS), it’s the Dawgs that Caesars Sportsbook lined the favorite to win this game on the NCAAF odds with the number to beat hitting the board -1.5 and the Over/Under set at 49. The CFB spread is down 2-3 points from the “Game of the Year” lines posted over the summer dependent upon the shop you do business with. As it is, action reports relay Georgia taking in 63 percent of the bets but only 47 percent of the money with the under the clamored for side of total bettors with it backed by 70+ percent of the tickets and 60+ percent of the handle—forcing a half-point move to 48.5 due to the heavy one-sided action.

Georgia Bulldogs vs. Alabama Crimson Tide CFB Same Game Parlay:
The Alabama Crimson Tide haven’t been installed home underdogs on the CFB betting lines since 2007, when they pushed as 7-point underdogs against LSU in Nick Saban’s first season roaming the sideline in Tuscaloosa. LSU went on to win the national championship that year. Fast forward 17 years, and Alabama finds itself in a similar underdog role as they face the Georgia Bulldogs, the odds-on favorites to win it all at Caesars. Georgia recently dropped to No. 2 in the rankings after an unconvincing 13-12 win over Kentucky, casting doubts among CFB bettors about their dominance. However, despite Georgia’s shaky performance, they enter this grudge match the favored side to come out on the right side of the scoreboard.
I get the affinity for the Crimson Tide. Jalen Milroe has been a lightning rod to this point throwing for 394 yards and 5 TD while adding four more with his legs. Seventeen year-old Ryan Williams has been his main beneficiary snaring 3 TD for 207 yards while averaging 34.5 yards per reception (6). That smells a bit too boom or bust for me! Enter the Dawgs No. 1 ranked pass defense. Meanwhile, Carson Beck has already plummeted down the Heisman Trophy odds leaderboard with a bulk of his 680 passing yards and perfect 7:0 TD/INT ratio coming against Clemson, in the season opener, and Tennessee Tech. Regardless, I firmly expect Georgia to put its best foot forward and go right at an Alabama squad in hostile territory to silence the naysayers and get the quest towards winning a third title in the last four years back on track.
It all comes down to being convinced the Tide isn’t ready for this level of competition at this juncture. Ask me again when the teams collide again in the CFP! Nor am I buying into DeBoer excelling in his first taste of top-ranked SEC football under the lights, be it home or away. I think we can all agree that the former Pac-12 is a far cry from what the SEC boasts. While the 42-10 demolition of Wisconsin in Camp Randall was impressive, the Badgers are nowhere close to what they once were. Georgia, a roster filled with experienced players, has the edge in continuity and SEC battle experience. Alabama’s retooled secondary has yet to face a challenge like this, and I anticipate the Bulldogs capitalizing on key turnovers to win a gritty, low-scoring affair, reaffirming their status as the team to beat in college football.
