March 8, 2022FanDuel Sportsbook vs. DraftKings Sportsbook
March 8, 2022Many people today are using their phones to do virtually everything, and that includes bet on sports. When you are betting on sports you need to have the best experience and that means using the Best Online Sports Betting App. There are many top online sportsbooks in the United States that have a number of great features, including mobile betting. There are, however, some differences in the mobile apps available at U.S. sportsbooks. Let’s take a look at some of the differences including reliability, features and overall user experience.
Before we get too far into this, we want to say that the U.S. sports betting landscape is constantly changing. There are more states coming online all the time and that means more online sportsbooks expanding into new areas. Most states have multiple licensed sportsbooks available, but that is not always the case. For example, New Hampshire only has DraftKings as their sportsbook. Other states like Pennsylvania, Colorado, Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey and Indiana have multiple sportsbook operators.
Top Online Sportsbook Mobile Apps
DraftKings Sportsbook
You probably known DraftKings more for fantasy football than anything else, but they are one of the leading sportsbooks in the U.S. They started quickly, offering sports betting in New Jersey and they are now in Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, West Virginia and Virginia. Their mobile app is available for iOS and Android. The app is solid with good navigation and speed and it may actually be a little better than the desktop version.
FanDuel Sportsbook
The other big fantasy player is FanDuel and they have just as much popularity in sports betting as DraftKings. They are active in Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, West Virginia and Virginia. The interesting part about FanDuel is that they have two separate apps, one for sports betting and one for DFS. That is probably advantageous overall, since the menu is less cluttered. They have their app for both iOS and Android. The app also gives users access to the online casino in states that allow casino wagering. You can make a case that the FanDuel mobile app is the best in the business.
PointsBet Sportsbook
If you haven’t heard of PointsBet then you soon will. They were started in 2017 in Australia and they have expanded into the United States. You see the PointsBet odds all the time on television, so don’t be surprised if PointsBet starts making inroads on DraftKings and FanDuel. PointsBet is available in Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan and New Jersey. The mobile app is solid and gives users a bit of a different feel than the apps at other sportsbooks.
FOXBet Sportsbook
FOXBet is available in Colorado, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The sportsbook has the backing of the FOX Corporation and that gives them a lot of power. They actually started the app as BetStars but it is now FOXBet and the mobile app has some good features. FOXBet is available in Colorado, Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The menus update well and the odds are competitive. The downside is that customer service was not easily reached through the app.
BetRivers Sportsbook
BetRivers is available in Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Virginia and it should be available in New Jersey soon. The mobile app is very appealing and actually is an improvement on the desktop version. The mobile app is much less cluttered and isn’t cluttered with ads. BetRivers has a good loyalty program that is available on their mobile app and that is a plus.
BetMGM Sportsbook
BetMGM is another well-known sportsbook. They are available in Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, West Virginia and Virginia. BetMGM has a very good mobile app but there are oftentimes some issues on how the odds are displayed. It is surprising that a company like MGM would have issues on how odds are shown, but they do.
William Hill
William Hill is all over the place, including in Nevada. They are also in almost all of the other U.S. states where gambling is legal including Iowa, Indiana, Colorado, New Jersey, and West Virginia. The mobile app is a bit behind some of the other sportsbooks, as William Hill hasn’t seen the need to upgrade their technology considering they have been around the longest. The mobile app simply gives you all of the basics with no frills.
We also want to mention UniBet and 888, although UniBet is available only in Indiana, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, while 888 is only in New Jersey. Both sportsbooks have mobile apps that are available in iOS and Android, and they do an effective job in displaying their odds and giving users multiple options.
Mobile Betting
Mobile betting is simply betting using a device other than your personal computer like a phone or tablet. The two main smartphones used today have the Apple or iOS system and Android. The mobile app used at online sportsbooks enable players to sign up for an account, make deposits and withdrawals, view lines and make bets. Most mobile apps give players the same options available that can be accessed on the desktop.
The ability to make wagers on the go is a huge plus and is why many people today are downloading mobile sportsbook apps. Almost everyone has a smartphone that they carry with them so access to the online sportsbook is available anywhere at any time.
