March 9, 2022Two fighters seemingly going in opposite directions headline UFC Fight Night 203 on Saturday in Las Vegas. Magomed Ankalaev has lost just once in his career and has won seven straight fights, while Thiago Santos has lost nine times in his career and has just one win in his last four fights. UFC Fight Night 203 takes place on Saturday, March 12 in Las Vegas, Nevada with 14 fights on the card. The main card has six fights, while the preliminary card has eight fights. All of the action will be televised by ESPN+. Let’s take a look at some of the UFC Fight Night 203 props with a focus on Santos vs. Ankalaev and Moraes vs. Yadong.
UFC Fight Night 203 Prop Picks
The main event has Ankalaev listed as more than a 5-1 favorite in UFC odds. If you like Ankalaev to win this fight you really have to look at the props, because laying big money is something that very few people want to do. If you think Santos has a chance, and I do think he has a shot, then taking the +400 could be worth a flyer. If you look at the props on this fight, I think they give you a clue as to the best bet in this fight. We know that Ankalev is listed as a huge favorite but you can get him at even money to win this fight in Rounds 1-5 at FOX Bet. That tells me that oddsmakers expect this fight to go to a decision. We can get plus money on this fight going to a decision and I think that is the best prop for this fight.
Moraes vs. Yadong Prop Picks
Marlon Moraes is 23-9-1 in his career and he has gone 5-5 in the UFC, while Yadong is 18-5-1 in his career and 7-1-1 in the UFC. Yadong has had a lot of success in the UFC but his level of competition has been weak. Yadong has 10 finishes in his career, while Moraes has 16 finishes in his career. If you believe in Yadong, which I don’t know that I do, you may want to bet some of the props instead of laying the 2-1 price. Moraes could have some value at the plus price but perhaps the best prop picks for this bout is the rounds. You could simply take the fight to go under 1.5 rounds, but I like the option of betting this fight to end in a finish. We should get some props on both fighters to win this fight by finish and they should each be listed at plus money.
Pereira vs. Silva Prop Picks
If you are looking for a fight with a lot of action then this could be the one to watch. Alex Pereira is 4-1 in his career and all four of his wins have come by KO/TKO. Bruno Silva is 22-6 in his career and 19 of his wins were by KO/TKO. There doesn’t seem to be much doubt that one of these two should get a quick finish and the rounds going under seems likely. FOX Bet has the rounds listed at 1.5 with the under at -160. The rounds to go under seems like a good choice in this bout.
Dober vs. McKinney Prop Picks
It was a tough 2021 for Drew Dober but he is still getting a lot of respect, as he is nearly a 2-1 favorite against Terrance McKinney. Dober was ranked in the Top 15 in 2020 but he lost to Islam Makhachev and Brad Riddell in 2021. McKinney is fighting on a short turnaround, as it was less than a month ago that he took out Fares Ziam in the first round. We know that McKinney is going to be looking for the quick finish, especially since he will be fighting for the second time in less than a month. Taking the rounds to go under should be the best option in this fight.
