A potential NBA Finals matchup takes place on Saturday when the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks visit the Golden State Warriors on ABC. Both teams are securely planted at the top of their conference, though the Dubs have fallen on hard times. And teams looking to stay in the top-six in the East battle when the Cavaliers take on the Chicago Bulls.
A nationally televised doubleheader highlights the Sunday schedule. No team with a losing record this late in the season has won a NBA championship yet the Brooklyn Nets continue to get plenty of attention as an NBA Finals pick. The Nets got Kevin Durant back in the lineup recently and are still awaiting the debut of Ben Simmons. There’s a chance that happens this weekend against the New York Knicks.
The nightcap of the twin bill features two of the most exciting young players in the league and teams surging in the standings. Jayson Tatum dropped 54 points to help the Celtics beat the Nets last weekend, their 21st victory in 27 games moving them within 5.0 games of first in the East. The Dallas Mavericks have been pretty good as well winning 11 of 13 following a 111-102 verdict over the Jazz on Monday night. Luka Doncic had 35 points and averages 28.0 points to rank fourth in the NBA. At 40-25, the Mavs are just a half game behind Utah for the No. 4 seed in the West.
The NBA betting weekend concludes with a Pacific Division tilt between the Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns on ESPN. The Lakers are a story fit for Hollywood with all their drama.
