Weekend NHL Picks – Saturday, March 12 and Sunday, March 13
March 10, 2022NBA Betting – Milwaukee Bucks at Golden State Warriors
March 10, 2022With the NBA season now in its final month, the race for playoff and play-in spots and conference seeding is picking up. While some bemoan the fact that a team with fewer wins than losses can actually have a chance to win a championship, it’s a fact in today’s game. Currently the top eight teams in each conference are above .500. However, the play-in tournament allows two more teams from each conference to compete in the postseason. As of now those four clubs all have a winning percentage under .500. Several big games are on tap this weekend with a number of nationally televised games. Fans can visit SugarHouse sportsbook to make NBA point spread picks.
A potential NBA Finals matchup takes place on Saturday when the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks visit the Golden State Warriors on ABC. Both teams are securely planted at the top of their conference, though the Dubs have fallen on hard times. Competing with Phoenix for the best record in the Association not long ago, the Warriors recently suffered through a five-game losing streak to fall behind Memphis in the Western Conference and they’ve been one of the worst NBA picks against the spread over the past few weeks with only three payouts in their last 14 games.
The teams have combined to win four of the past seven NBA championships and each club boasts a two-time MVP. The battle between Giannis Antetokounmpo and Stephen Curry will certainly be one worth watching. Both are putting up MVP type numbers and the Freak is leading his team on a huge run. The Bucks claimed their third winning streak of at least five games by knocking off OKC with a season-high point total in their 142-115 decision. Giannis had 39 points helping the Bucks cash the OVER for the eighth time in 10 games.
There are a few other intriguing matchups on Saturday. The surprising Minnesota Timberwolves have their sights set on a top-six seed in the West moving closer with the help of a five-game winning streak. They’ve been one of the best NBA against the spread picks with payouts in all five games and in six of their last seven. They visit the East leading Miami Heat. And teams looking to stay in the top-six in the East battle when the Cavaliers take on the Chicago Bulls.
A nationally televised doubleheader highlights the Sunday schedule. No team with a losing record this late in the season has won a NBA championship yet the Brooklyn Nets continue to get plenty of attention as an NBA Finals pick. The Nets got Kevin Durant back in the lineup recently and are still awaiting the debut of Ben Simmons. There’s a chance that happens this weekend against the New York Knicks.
The nightcap of the twin bill features two of the most exciting young players in the league and teams surging in the standings. Jayson Tatum dropped 54 points to help the Celtics beat the Nets last weekend, their 21st victory in 27 games moving them within 5.0 games of first in the East. The Dallas Mavericks have been pretty good as well winning 11 of 13 following a 111-102 verdict over the Jazz on Monday night. Luka Doncic had 35 points and averages 28.0 points to rank fourth in the NBA. At 40-25, the Mavs are just a half game behind Utah for the No. 4 seed in the West.
The NBA betting weekend concludes with a Pacific Division tilt between the Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns on ESPN. The Lakers are a story fit for Hollywood with all their drama. Meanwhile, the Suns just keep winning games despite being without Chris Paul. No matter how many points the Suns are laying in this contest, they are still my NBA hot pick.
