December 6, 2024Los Angeles Chargers vs. Kansas City Chiefs Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions Recap
The Kansas City Chiefs (12-1) secured their ninth consecutive AFC West title with a thrilling 19-17 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers (8-5). Matthew Wright’s 31-yard field goal, which doinked the upright before going through, capped Patrick Mahomes’ clutch fourth-quarter drive and extended the Chiefs’ unbeaten streak in one-score games this season to 10-0 against the NFL odds. KC’s QB1 threw for 281 yards and a touchdown, surpassing Dan Marino for the most passing yards in a quarterback’s first eight NFL seasons. Travis Kelce was instrumental in the final drive, making a key kneeling reception to help the Chiefs drain the clock. Mahomes praised Kelce as a leader and a pivotal contributor throughout his career. However, Mahomes was sacked three times, bringing his total to 13 over the past three games, the most of any three-game stretch in his career.
The Chargers struggled early, punting on their first five possessions, and trailed 13-0 at halftime marking Kansas City’s largest halftime lead to date which had out -4 ticket looking pretty, pretty, pretty good. Unfortunately, Justin Herbert and the Bolts offense surged over the final 30 minutes, throwing for 213 yards and a touchdown. Aided by a 39-yard pass interference penalty, the Chargers took a 14-13 lead after Herbert’s 4-yard touchdown pass to Quentin Johnston, breaking a 13-quarter drought without a passing score. Wright’s 50-yard field goal briefly regained the lead for Kansas City before Cameron Dicker’s 37-yarder put the Chargers up 17-16 late. Mahomes’ ensuing drive and Wright’s game-winning kick sealed the Chiefs’ victory, keeping their hopes for the AFC’s top seed alive with it now two games up regardless of dropping the tiebreaker to the Bills.
Seriously, how many lives does this Chiefs team have? I’ve counted them, and whether you count this win as a used life, they’re clocking in at seven or eight. God help us all if the football gods allow the tally to reset in the playoffs! All kidding aside, the reigning Super Bowl champs have been a detriment to NFL bettors’ bank rolls at PROLINE+ with this win and non-cover marking the seventh straight time that Andy Reid’s squad failed to cover the number. Nauseatingly, the team stands 6-1 SU during that stretch! Thankfully we earned a split of the recommended positions after the 36 combined points fell short of the 44-point total that closed 42.5 by kick-off.
Los Angeles Chargers vs. Kansas City Chiefs Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions
The Week 14 installment of Sunday Night Football takes NFL bettors to Arrowhead Stadium where the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers will close their regular season rivalry out after the defending champs got a leg up back in Week 4 when they went into SoFi and scored the 17-10 win and pushed as 7-point road favorites. The Bolts were the beneficiaries of four Kirk Cousins interceptions that allowed LA to go into Atlanta and come out with the 17-13 NFL odds win regardless of nearly getting doubled up in the yardage department. The Chiefs likely won a game they shouldn’t have as well last week due to the Raiders fumbling the pigskin and game away in the closing seconds. PROLINE+ opened the SNF matchup up with the Chiefs laying 5.5-points and the total lined 44.5. Each market has been corrected since with nearly 70 percent of the bets and money on LA pushing the number to beat down to 4, and reverse line movement moving the total down to 43 even though 70+ percent of the booked handle has aligned itself with the over.
Reduced juice betting is one of the best ways for any sports bettor to save money and far too many people don’t take advantage of it. If you are not playing at a sportsbook that offers reduced juice betting then you are simply giving away money.
Los Angeles Chargers vs. Kansas City Chiefs NFL Same Game Parlay:
The Chargers are in the process of exceeding preseason expectations with the NFL betting season heading into the home stretch. Los Angeles entered the year coin flips to make the playoffs with an 8.5-game season win total and a new coaching staff and general manager taking over the reins. Heading into this matchup with the Chiefs, Los Angeles is just one win away from cashing over tickets and currently holds the No. 5 seed in the AFC playoff chase—not too shabby!
Jim Harbaugh has played a significant role in the franchise’s swift turnaround, especially considering much of the roster’s talent was already in place under the prior coaching regime. That being said, it’s been the benefactor of a laughable schedule strength to this point with only half its 12 played opponents currently in the playoffs if the season were to end today. They went 2-4 straight up and against the spread in those matchups with the two wins coming against what I deem the lesser of the bunch in the Broncos and Falcons. Justin Herbert and his mates have been cover darlings as well, boasting an impressive 8-4 record against the closing NFL spread—some negative regression could be on the horizon!
The football gods gave the Chiefs nine lives at the season’s outset. By my count, they’ve already utilized seven of them. The first came the opening week against Baltimore when Isaiah Likely’s shoe size proved to be a skosh too big. The following week, a fumble return for a score early in the fourth quarter set the stage for another comeback that resulted in a 26-25 walk-off win at the gun. Then in Atlanta in Week 3, the refs played a huge role in preventing the Falcons from scoring on a pair of potential game-winning drives. Fast forward to Week 9 when they won an overtime thriller against the Buccaneers needing to battle back from multiple deficits throughout before winning the coin toss in the extra session and never relinquishing possession. Then it squeaked out a 16-14 win against Denver two weeks before nearly getting upset in Carolina as 11-point favorites. Then of course, last week predictably happened back home in Arrowhead where they escaped with the 19-17 win due to the Raiders being the Raiders. Patrick Mahomes only has two left, and I don’t think this is the week he’ll need to utilize one of them.
Due to injuries and finally starting to run up against opponents with an offensive pulse, the Chargers defense has started to regress in a big way. Since giving up 35 total points to the Saints, Browns, and Titans, Los Angeles has served up 23.3 points per game over the last three weeks. The output would’ve been even higher had the Falcons been able to do something with the 350 total yards racked up last week and not gone 1 of 4 in the red zone with two of those trips ending with Kirk Cousins interceptions. On top of that, LA’s offense is hurting right now with no running game to fall back on due to J.K. Dobbins going on IR and rookie Ladd McConkey being banged up. I personally have no desire to lay the points with the Chiefs who’ve failed to cover the NFL betting line six straight times, but it’s Kansas City or nothing for this same-game parlay considering Travis Kelce and Co. have taken six straight in the recent rivalry and enter the match the healthier of the two teams.
