January 17, 2025Warriors at Kings Same Game NBA Parlay Pick
January 20, 2025Keepers of the throne in the Big 12 for many years, the Kansas Jayhawks find themselves looking up to several teams in the conference standings. If they want to make a run at another league title beating a team like the TCU Horned Frogs is a must. The Frogs are 9-7 overall and their three Big 12 losses were to some of the best, and they’ve been good on their home court this season making this an interesting matchup. The Jayhawks reached No. 1 in the national rankings not long ago but their four losses have come in their last 10 games with three of them to unranked opponents. Bolstered by one of the best defenses in the country the Jayhawks have cashed the UNDER on the college basketball odds in 15 of their 17 games.

It’s hard to imagine any team being 13-4 and some considering that a bad start. But that’s what happens when you have decades of success. The Jayhawks opened the season with seven straight wins before back-to-back setbacks to Creighton and Missouri. In the Missouri game Kansas committed an uncharacteristic 22 turnovers. The Jayhawks have typically been good taking care of the basketball averaging just 10.5 turnovers per game.
It’s usually the Jayhawks doing the pressuring and playing strong defense. They rank among the top 20 nationally holding teams to 63.5 points per game while boasting the ninth-best field goal percentage defense. Opponents are also shooting less than 30 percent from behind the arc against them. KU had run of 14 straight games playing below the total until their last outing, an 84-74 win over in-state rival Kansas State.
Hunter Dickinson did his job in that game scoring 25 points on 12 of 19 shooting. Zeke Mayo also contributed 24 points making 4 of 7 triples. We don’t often see the offense explode like that but when the Jayhawks are scoring the basketball they have success. In their four losses they failed to score more than 67 points The team relies on Dickinson, Mayo and Dajuan Harris for offense. Between them they average nearly 50 points per game. They could have a depth issue, too, with fourth-leading scorer K.J. Adams on the shelf due to a shoulder injury sustained in a loss to Iowa State last week.
The Frogs finally got their signature win beating No. 25 Baylor for a third straight time in Waco, 74-71. Brendan Wenzel, who averages 8.4 points, hit the game-winning three-pointer in the waning seconds making up for a humbling home loss to Utah in the previous outing. The Frogs were favored by 4-points against the Utes and instead suffered their first home loss in 10 games this season. Scoring the basketball has been an issue all season for the Frogs, who average just 70.3 points. Noah Reynolds tops the squad averaging 12.5 points.
It’s hard to score when you can’t shoot and the Frogs have struggled from the field. As a team they make less than 43 percent of their field goals and just 33.2 percent of their three-pointers. They cashed the UNDER in six of seven games until hitting the OVER in the Baylor game. since beating Kansas 83-60 in during the 2022-23 season, the Frogs have dropped two straight with those games decided by only seven points. They also have payouts in five of the last seven encounters.
Playing this game at home after upsetting Baylor will be a huge plus for the Frogs. They are 9-1 in their barn this season and have been good over the years. They have a winning record despite their offensive woes because they do what’s necessary defensively. The Frogs limit opponents to just over 66 points and defend the three-pointer aggressively. Opponents are shooting less than 30 percent from distance. There’s always a chance this can be a track meet, but with teams more efficient on defense this game has a good chance of going UNDER the total. And playing at home is worth a few points giving me the confidence to back TCU on the college basketball betting line.
