February 24, 2025Cognizant Classic Golf Odds – PGA Tour Betting
February 25, 2025Wednesday night’s same game parlay picks take us to Neville Arena where the Auburn Tigers will attempt to sweep the season rivalry from the Ole Miss Rebels and continue its pursuit of the top seed in the NCAA Tournament by extending its current win streak to five games. Chris Beard’s squad aims to snap a two-game slide after a hard-fought 77-72 loss at Vanderbilt, where they erased a 19-point deficit to make it a thrilling finish. For the second time in as many games, Bruce Pearl’s troops pulled away from an unranked opponent late, but failed to cover the number in an 82-70 triumph over Georgia.
Auburn has dominated the recent rivalry with the Rebels scoring wins in each of the last seven producing a 5-2 record against the closing college basketball betting odds. The 92-82 final in the first meeting saw the Tigers cover the 5.5-point spread with the 174 points going on to smash the 149-point Over/Under pushing the over to 7-1 in the last eight overall meetings. Caesars Sportsbook will have the home team installed mid-teen home favorites for the rematch with the total set in the low 150s.

Ole Miss Rebels
Had Mississippi not been forced to battle back from a 34-15 deficit 15 minutes into the first half, it’s likely the Rebs would’ve had enough in the tank to see the comeback win all the way through. But after taking a 64-62 lead—their first of the game with 7+ minutes remaining—Sean Pedulla and his mates went ice cold allowing Vandy to outscore them 15-8 the rest of the way to fall by five points. In doing so, Ole Miss fell to 5-4 SU straight up (SU) and 4-5 against the spread (ATS) on the true road. The Rebels invade Auburn having failed to cover each of their last four away from Oxford (2-2 SU).
Poor rebounding ultimately got the Rebels after losing the battle of the boards 37-30 to the Commodores. While the defense made up for that shortcoming by forcing 13 Vanderbilt turnovers and scored 21 points off those miscues, it simply wasn’t enough to get the team over the hump.
Auburn Tigers
Ugly is the only way to describe Auburn’s home win and non-cover against the Dawgs over the weekend. Though Johni Broome exploded for a season-high 31 points and reeled in 14 of the Tigers 40 overall rebounds, the effort simply wasn’t good enough for the team to cover the lofty CBB spread dropping the team to 16-11 against the closing number for the season. The team needed his 17th double-double just to pull away late against a Georgia team that gave the Tigers all it could and more before falling 70-68 as 5.5-point home dogs when the teams crossed paths in Athens back on January 18. Take note however, Broome was sidelined for that one.
Regardless, the Tigers continued its M.O. of being much more effective offensively on the road than at home. As hosts, Auburn has logged a 55.8 effective field goal percentage (#63), and 53.1 eFG% on the road (#46). Even so, the over has cashed at a 7-6 clip at home with an average of only 136.5 point scored and in five of eight true road games with the average scoring up to 157.5 points per game.

The first meeting between these teams was tightly contested until the Tigers pulled away late with an 8-3 run in the final minutes, securing a 10-point win that covered the closing number. Auburn shot 48.4% from the field and drained half of its 28 attempted shots from long range. Ole Miss only connected on 6-of-19 long range shots, but made up for it by doing work near the rim—winning paint points 34-28—and connecting on 24 of a whopping 35 free throw attempts. The main outlier proved to be the Tigers decided advantage on the glass where it outboarded the hosts 41-30.
Knowing exactly what to expect for the rematch and Ole Miss just being forced to expend a ton of energy to pull out the near comeback win in Nashville, I just don’t foresee the Rebels having enough in the tank to hang with the nation’s No. 1 team for a full 40 minutes. Provided Auburn dominates the rebounding battle once again and does a better job limiting turnovers after coughing it up 12 times the first time around, I’m willing to lay the steep chalk on the hosts with the expectation their defense puts the clamps down at home much like it has all season.
