NFL Offensive Player of the Year Odds & Picks
June 2, 2022UFC Fight Night: Alexander Volkov vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik
June 2, 2022We’ve got another exceptional bout on Showtime this weekend as two hungry fighters look to land a win and championship status as they duke it out in the ring.
Stephen Fulton puts his undefeated 20-0 mark on the line Saturday night as he faces off against former Junior Featherweight Champion Daniel Roman. The action kicks off at 9 PM EST in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Fulton is the No. 1 contender, defending his belts for the first time since beating Brandon Figueroa in November of last year. The two-belt champ is knocking foes out in 40% of his fights, posting eight KOs in those 20 bouts. He’s eager to get back in the ring, but will have a tested veteran on the other side of the ropes.
Fulton enters with 33 fights under his belt. The 32-year-old has won 29 of those meetings to go along with three defeats and a draw. Roman has been a title holder before, but narrowly lost out on the crown after dropping a close matchup to Murodjon Akhmadaliev in January of 2020. He’s been itching for another shot at the title and he’ll get his first chance on Saturday.
Fulton has won each of his last two bouts since losing to Akhmadaliev two years ago, and now, he’s hoping for a shot at redemption in the championship showdown. Let’s take a look at this Pay-Per-View matchup to evaluate the odds, best bets, and a prediction for Saturday night.

Location: The Armory, Minneapolis, Minnesota
Odds: Stephen Fulton (-670) vs. Daniel Roman (+380)
TV Coverage: Showtime PPV
The Odds
Title holder Stephen Fulton enters as the heavy favorite, boasting -670 odds at Sugar House Sportsbook. The oddsmakers believe he’ll stay undefeated, moving to a perfect 21-0 in his title defense. Meanwhile, former champ Daniel Roman comes in as the underdog. He’s listed as a +380 longshot.
Those +380 odds could prove valuable for Roman backers. A $100 bet would land a $380 payday, and with the former division champion finally getting his second shot at a title, he could have a little extra motivation.
Still, Fulton is the favorite for a reason. He holds an advantage in height and reach, which will make it a bit tougher for Roman to get in close. If you do take the current No. 1 contender, though, you’ll have to lay down some serious dough. A $670 wager will only land you just a $100 win.
Where there could be some real value, though, is in the length of the fight. These two punchers tend to go deep into bouts, with neither packing a powerful knockout punch. If you can find a prop to bet, take one that sees this matchup moving into the later rounds.
The Pick
This should be a matchup of two skilled boxers. Neither one necessarily packs a punch, as noted by the low knockout totals in past fights. Fulton has eight KOs in 20 tries while Roman has recorded 10 KOs in 33 matchups. This one could go deep into the bout.
With that said, the advantage might favor the younger Roman, who seems to have a leg up in most measurable categories. Look for Roman to keep Fulton at a relative distance, using his height to his advantage. He’s the more skilled boxer of the two, and it will show on Saturday.
Roman will not go down quietly, and that extra motivation to get back on top of the boxing world will certainly play a part. He could even go up early, seeing a jolt of adrenaline in the opening rounds. But as the fight settles in, it should be Fulton’s to lose.
Back the champ Fulton here as he moves his undefeated record to a perfect 21-0 and successfully defends his belts in Saturday night action. It may cost a little more on the action but the risk should be worth the reward.
The Pick: Stephen Fulton (-670)
