NFL Regular Season Prop Bets – Sack Totals

It’s been 11 long seasons since the New York Jets last made an appearance in the second season. You remember those days right? Rex Ryan was calling the shots on the sideline. Mark “Butt Fumble” Sanchez was the QB1, and there was this thing called “Revis Island.” Those teams reached the AFC title game in back-to-back years before falling to the Steelers and Colts respectively. Since then, the J-E-T-S Jets! Jets! Jets! have tallied just one double-digit win tally and went for eight twice. Its high-water mark over the last five seasons is seven from back in 2019, and it still came nowhere close to competing for AFC East bragging rights with the Buffalo Bills or New England Patriots.
Linemakers at SugarHouse Sportsbook have them pegged for a third straight fourth place finish with a seasons win total of six and even -110 juice attached to both sides of the impost. Should it at the very least live up to expectations, it would mean two games of improvement from the year prior which is what the franchise has produced each of the last two years. I personally believe those booking the bets are underestimating this team. There already was some young, exceptional talent on the offensive side of the ball before acquiring Garret Wilson and Breece Hall in the draft, and the defense should be noticeably improved in year two of the Robert Saleh regime. While the team likely isn’t competing for the division title, it won’t be a pushover either.

New York Jets Season Wins Total: 6 Over -110
According to Sharp Football Analysis, the Jets possess the sixth toughest schedule when going by opponent’s win totals. Last season, they played to the league’s 13th easiest schedule and only produced four wins. That however occurred with a new coaching staff in tow and the injury bug wreaking havoc on both sides of the ball.
There’s something I really like about how the schedule plays out in 2022-23, and it has everything to do with consistency. Only one of their 17 scheduled games won’t be played on a Sunday. Of those other 16 games, only two of them won’t have a 1 p.m. ET kick-off. Regardless of the opposition, that’s an advantage that can’t be taken away from them any given Sunday.

New York Jets Season Win Total Analysis
Call me crazy, but the Jets are going to put some points on the board this season! Before getting injured early on, Zach Wilson looked like he was starting to figure it out at the next level. Though he never played to better than a 90.0 QB rating, I still think there’s some untapped potential in there. He’s a threat to beat you with his arm as well as his legs as evidenced by that crazy Week 15 game against the Jaguars in which he rushed for 91 yards and a score to lead the team to their final win of the year. When healthy, RB Michael Carter showed out for his season-long fantasy and DFS backers. Then there was the limited time on the field for then rookie WR Elijah Moore who combined for nearly 600 scrimmage yards and 6 TD through 11 games and six starts. With the rookie infusions along with a pair of solid tight end additions in C.J. Uzomah and Tyler Conklin, OC Mike LaFleur has an exciting unit at his disposal.
Should a healthy Mekhi Becton return to the fold and help Alijah Vera-Tucker clamp down Wilson’s blindside, the Jets will possess one of the league’s more underrated offenses!
Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner and Jermain Johnson II will make impacts in the secondary and along the defensive line right from Week 1. Whether that results in stark improvement on the defensive side of the ball remains to be seen. Remember, this Jets defense ranked dead last overall in allowing nearly 398 total yards per game with it ranked nearly dead last at defending both the pass (No. 30) and run (No. 29).
To top it all off, the scoring defense was the absolute worst and it ranked No. 30 at forcing turnovers! After cashing over tickets in 10 of 17 played games, New York just might be another fabulous investment for over bettors once again.
The AFC North currently has three teams with negative odds of qualifying for the playoffs. The Jets first four games come against that division in one of the weirdest season opening schedules I’ve ever seen.
If it finds a way to split those games, you can already cash that ticket on New York going over the number! While the remainder of the schedule is hardly a walk in the park, the schedule make-up paired with the overall talent infused with more has me optimistic on the Jets grossly exceeding its preseason expectations. “Gang Green” hasn’t eclipsed its wins total in four years – that streak ends in 2022-23!
