*All remaining players greater than 100-1
Drake London claimed the top spot last week and held onto it by putting forth an 8/86/1 stat line with the Falcons in catch up mode a majority of the game. The USC product has seemingly fit right into his new digs to undoubtedly become Marcus Mariota’s primary target; much to the chagrin of Kyle Pitts fantasy owners. Expect another solid showing on Sunday with Atlanta’s offense set to square off against Seattle’s No. 26 ranked pass defense.
Catapulting himself all the way into the No. 2 slot was the Jets Garrett Wilson who introduced himself to NFL prop bettors in a big way snaring eight of 14 targets and turning them into 102 yards and a pair of touchdowns. With Joe Flacco throwing a total of 103 passes through two games, it looks like NY pass catchers are going to be getting tons of volume moving forward. That should be music to the ears of those that took a shot with his 16-1 price tag before it recently got cut in half.
Big days could soon be ahead for the Saints Chris Olave. The former Buckeye has gone for 121 yards on eight receptions through two games, but it could’ve been so much more. No rookie has amassed more air yards than Olave through the first two weeks (321). Once he and Jameis Winston finally get on the same page, it could be fireworks! Linemakers are well aware with his odds of winning this award not moving an inch since Week 1.
Washington’s Jahan Dotson continues to make the most of very little. He’s been targeted a grand total of 10 times through two games, but managed to turn his seven receptions into three touchdowns. But with such a slim percentage of the overall target share and so many mouths to feed on the Commanders offense, PointsBet fattened his rate of return by $100 following Sunday’s loss to the Lions. He just might not get enough opportunities to ultimately win this award regardless of potentially scoring the most touchdowns.
Treylon Burks saw his rate of return hold firm even though he surpassed both his reception and yardage props with ease for the second time in as many weeks. Same for Dameon Pierce who remained at 12-1 even though he shouldered 15 of the Texans 18 overall rushing attempts and turned them into 58 scoreless yards. Also shining in the Jets shocking comeback win over Cleveland was Breece Hall who combined for 60 scrimmage yards and his first NFL touchdown. Even so, he failed to surpass his rushing attempts prop for the second straight week which means Michael Carter continues to eat into his workload.
Truthfully, all the fun and games for everyone listed up above might be coming to a bitter end with it looking like QBs selected in this past year’s NFL Draft are set to have the training wheels taken off. While Mitch Trubisky hasn’t been as awful as this Bears fan would’ve liked, he hasn’t been impactful either.
Even before Pittsburgh did next to nothing against the Browns on Thursday night, Kenny Pickett’s odds to win this award were already starting to plummet. Sitting 20-1 on Monday, they now clock in at 9-1 following the Steelers 29-17 defeat. It looks to only be a matter of time until Mike Tomlin makes the move to their No. 1 draft pick with the losses starting to pile up in the Steel City.
Same thing’s going on in Tennessee, but it’s slightly different. The Titans have no shot of competing for a third straight division title. I knew it before the season and it’s starting to look like upper management is starting to realize it. Derrick Henry looks to be a shell of his former self, the defense has incurred way too many significant injuries, and the schedule is bound to only get tougher.
Futures bettors already got a glimpse of Malik Willis in mop-up duty against the Bills last Monday night. Though the effort was sloppy as could be, his odds to win this award plummeted from 40-1 all the way down to 13-1. Just like with Pickett, it looks all the more likely Mike Vrabel pulls the plug on the Ryan Tannehill era and starts setting his sights on Willis to see what the franchise has in the bag for down the road.
