Unlike the NFL, college football injury reports can be one of life’s great mysteries. Last week in a high-profile matchup for first place in the Big 12 Conference, the Kansas State Wildcats faced the TCU Horned Frogs. Kansas State quarterback Adrian Martinez left the game early with some leg issue. But the FS1 telecast could not get a straight answer from the Wildcats as to the problem. And that has carried over to this week.
Martinez is questionable, as is his backup, Will Howard. And for that matter, game-breaking running back Deuce Vaughn is also questionable. Further, all three of these Wildcats are questionable for undisclosed reasons. But K-State opened as a 1.5-point home chalk against the Big 12 leading Oklahoma State Cowboys. Oddsmakers and sharps expect the final disclosure to be that all three players will be on the field.

This game is a potential letdown spot for Oklahoma State after their epic homecoming comeback win over the hated Texas Longhorns. K-State lost at TCU last week, as everything that could go wrong did go wrong. Yet the Wildcats still could have won. K-State is America’s most underrated team.

Illinois was off last week, and that might kill their momentum. Nebraska is playing hard for interim head coach Mickey Joseph. The Huskers were also on a bye that followed a tough loss at Purdue. Look for the Sea of Red to carry the Huskers in their fight to make Joseph the permanent head coach.

Florida fans will want to drown their sorrows, while Georgia fans will want to celebrate into the night and the possibility of a second straight national championship.

The Spartans are indeed under par this season, but Tucker has proven to be able to get MSU focused and ready for the Wolverines. Also, Michigan carries an inflated price tag.
