CBB Odds – Butler Bulldogs vs. Tennessee Volunteers
November 22, 2022Buying Window on 49ers Winning the NFC West Slammed Shut
November 23, 2022Turkey Day 2022 is upon us which means the NFL has lined up a trifecta of games to hold your attention while giving thanks by indulging in copious amounts of food and beverages. Is there a better day to jump into the teaser market at PointsBet Sportsbook than Thanksgiving? I think not! It demands interest in every game regardless of how good or bad each matchup ultimately turns out to be. Thankfully, we got what I believe to be three rock solid pairings that should keep us glued to our HDTVs all day long. Hopefully it’s not the tryptophan that puts us all in a food coma once the sun goes down – Let’s have some fun!
Bet Thanksgiving NFL Teasers at PointsBet Sportsbook
Buffalo Bills -2.5 -325
As much as I’d like to think the Lions put forth a circle the wagons type effort and have a shot at extending their three-game win streak, the Buffalo Bills are ultimately going to prove to be different beasts for Dan Campbell’s gritty squad to contend with for a full 60. Even if at full strength in the secondary – which Detroit is not with Jeff Okudah already being announced as out due to a concussion – the Lions would have all kinds of issues dealing with Stefon Diggs and Co. That figures to be an even bigger concern with the unit without its best cover man.
Buffalo’s familiarity with the stadium after hosting the Browns in Ford Field last week really sets this up as a smash spot for Josh Allen who hasn’t been his normal self over the last three weeks. Nerve issue in the arm aside, Buffalo is in line to hang a crooked number on the board which should easily see it win this game by at least a field goal.
New York/Dallas Over 40.5 -190
Round two between the GMEN and Cowboys goes down in JerryWorld with both NFC East reps entering the matchup at completely different ends of the spectrum. New York just got its lunch served up by the Detroit Lions on its home turf, while Dallas went into the Twin Cities and skunked the Minnesota Vikings in one of the more dominant road wins ever logged by the franchise.
The Week 3 meeting between these teams saw Dallas pull out the 23-16 win and cover as short 1-point dogs. Big D would go on to rack up nearly 400 yards of combined offense and average 6.4 yards per play. New York countered with 336 total yards and averaged 5.0 yards per play but never once reached the red zone. Doing so will be a must this time around with Dak Prescott likely to take full advantage of an injury ravaged Giants secondary that wasn’t any good at full strength to begin with (No. 24 in pass DVOA). I’m not one to tease a total, but I feel it to be the correlated move to make knowing full well the Giants come in with a bad taste in their collective mouth and Dallas had no issues moving the ball on them with Cooper Rush under center.
New England Patriots +7.5 -250
While the Vikings will relish the quick turnaround to sweep last Sunday’s abysmal 40-3 loss to the Cowboys under the rug, they can’t be thrilled about the opponent coming in the form of “The Hoodie’s” Patriots. New England possesses the defensive makeup to make life a living hell for Minnesota’s offensive playmakers. Ranked No. 12 in pass DVOA and No. 1 against the pass, Dalvin Cook and Justin Jefferson will have their work cut out for them in what I figure to be a low scoring contest likely dominated by both defenses.
As tough it is to buy into the Pats offense with Mac Jones running the show, New England should be in good shape so long as he doesn’t turn the ball over. He’s thrown at least one interception in all three of his road starts, but hasn’t been picked off in his last two starts. With it already being announced that stud tackle Christian Darrisaw will miss this game after suffering a concussion against the Cowboys, Minnesota’s offensive line will once again be at the mercy of an opposing defensive front. It’ll be led by Matthew Judon and his 13 sacks this time around. I truly feel New England hands the Vikings a second straight defeat, so we likely won’t end up even needing the points. I’ll take ‘em though!
