New York Jets PK

It pains me to say this, but the Jets are going to open up a can on my beloved Bears this Sunday. Though it’s yet to be announced, Chicago likely won’t be sending Justin Fields onto the gridiron for this one after he separated his non-throwing shoulder and partially tore ligaments in last week’s loss to the Falcons. Should that be the case, the Bears will likely call upon Trevor Siemian to lead the offense into battle against a New York stop unit ranked within the top-10 in most pertinent statistical categories across the board. Jeff Ulbrich’s defense will feast upon the Bears should that turn out to be the case with its eighth ranked pressure rate likely to cause major issues for the immobile backup who gets the displeasure of going to work in back of one of if not the worst offensive line in the game.

The addition of Mike White under center creates some big play ability for an offense that’s struggled mightily under the leadership of Zach Taylor. Chicago’s defense is terrible and it won’t get the benefit of having its shortcomings masked by an offense that can make up for it due to Fields’ scrambling and quick-strike abilities. This one’s gonna get ugly real quick!

Carolina Panthers +8

While Russell Wilson is busy supposedly getting teammates kicked off the team instead of putting in the work to earn the $165 million guaranteed he signed for in the offseason, the Carolina Panthers are playing a gritty brand of football that’s seen it cover four of its last five games against the closing NFL betting odds. Meanwhile, Denver just dropped another one possession game to fall to 3-7 SU and ATS for the season in what can only be considered a catastrophic season for the franchise. I truly don’t understand why Nathaniel Hackett’s squad is laying points in this matchup. It’s shown me nothing all season to believe it deserves to be considered the favored side in any of its remaining games; especially this one with Steve Wilks gunning to remove interim from his title.

While Denver’s defense is no joke and Sam Darnold running up against it leaves cause for concern, Carolina has simply been playing a much more competitive brand of ball for the better part of the last five weeks. The Broncos would be staring at a seven game losing streak if not for coming back to defeat Jacksonville in London! Gimme the extra cheddar with the Panthers please and thank you.

Pittsburgh Steelers +8.5

No, this isn’t me piling on the Colts for spitting the bit late and preventing me from cashing that juicy moneyline ticket in against the Eagles. I just don’t think Matt Ryan and Co. have it in them to win this game by more than a field goal if at all. Though Pittsburgh ultimately fell to Joe Burrow and the Bengals in a shootout last week, the offense looked the best it has with rookie QB Kenny Pickett calling the shots. While he’ll have his hands full dissecting a competent Indianapolis defense that excels against both the run (No. 11) and the pass (No. 7), it’s the other side of the ball that leads me to believe the Steelers will be in this game all the way through and have a shot to win it outright.

T.J. Watt and Co. are likely to feast upon a Colts O-Line conceding a league-worst 3.6 sacks per game. The immobile Ryan reinserted under center should have him licking his chops heading into Pittsburgh’s one and only appearance on Monday Night Football. So long as the Steelers horrific pass defense (No. 32) doesn’t allow Michael Pittman Jr. and Paris Campbell to go HAM, this game will likely be decided by a single score and allow us to cash this teaser leg in without breaking much of a sweat.
