February 7, 2023College Basketball Parlay Picks for Wednesday, February 8, 2023
February 7, 2023It is Super Bowl week and that means the WM Phoenix Open is on the PGA Tour schedule. Not only is the golf event in the Phoenix area, but so is the Super Bowl, with the game in Glendale. And this year’s field for the WM Phoenix Open is stacked with eight of the world’s top 10 players in the field, led by World No. 1 Rory McIlroy and the red-hot Jon Rahm who has already won twice on the PGA Tour this season. Rahm is a slight favorite over McIlroy in golf betting odds at BetRivers. I am coming off a 3-3 week with the matchups at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Let’s look at WM Phoenix Open matchup picks.
Defending Champion: Scottie Scheffler
Tournament Notes: This is one of the PGA Tour’s designated events with an enhanced prize purse of $20 million dollars. Almost all of the world’s top players are in the field, with 20 of the world’s top 22 expected to play. TPC Scottsdale is a par 71 that measures 7,261 yards.

Alex Noren, vs. Kim, Si Woo
Bradley, Keegan -152 vs. Fleetwood, Tommy
Day, Jason -134 vs. Power, Seamus
Matsuyama, Hideki -134 vs. Day, Jason
You have to like how Matsuyama is playing, as he tied for 9th at the Farmers and we know he does well at this event. He has two wins among five Top 10 finishes in the Phoenix Open. I’ll lay the price and take him against Day in this matchup.
Morikawa, Collin -114 vs. Homa, Max
I had Morikawa as of my choices to win this week and I see no reason not to take him in this matchup. I like Homa and his game and picked him to win a couple of weeks ago. I don’t know that he can get right back into contention with just a week off, so I will take Morikawa in this matchup.
Thomas, Justin -125 vs. Young, Cameron
I said in the odds preview that I think Thomas can contend this week and we rarely see him at odds of 20-1or higher to win a tournament. He has played well in the past in this event and I think we get him at a bargain price in this matchup against Young.
Theegala, Sahith -134 vs. Pendrith, Taylor
I don’t think there is any doubt that Theegala is going to win soon on the PGA Tour. It probably won’t come this week against a stacked field, but I still expect him to play well. He took last week off after finishing in a tie for 4th at Torrey Pines. I’ll lay the price and take him in this matchup against Pendrith.
Mitchell, Keith -120 vs. Henley, Russell
You have to like the way that Mitchell is playing right now. He was in contention last week and he may be able to ride the wave this week at the WM Phoenix Open. Henley has been putting terribly of late, with strokes lost putting in 14 of his last 15 events. I’ll lay the small price and take Mitchell in this matchup.
Fowler, Rickie -112 vs. Lowry, Shane
If you read the odds article you know that I give Fowler a chance to contend this week. On the other side, Lowry is struggling. He missed the cut at the Dubai Desert Classic and there is no reason to think he gets things going in the right direction in this event. I’ll take Fowler in this matchup.
