Sunday College Hoops Parlay Legs
February 10, 2023Super Tuesday College Hoops Parlay Legs
February 13, 2023There are only a couple full Saturday slates of college basketball the rest of the season, so it’s time to fully dive into the CBB betting action the rest of the way. As always, the best value lies in games between unranked teams, since the lines aren’t as sharp. That has us looking at a game between NCAA Tournament bubble team USC and PAC 12 lightweight Oregon State and a MWC showdown between Wyoming and Boise State.

USC Trojans at Oregon State Beavers
The Oregon State Beavers will not be playing postseason basketball as they are 9-16 and 3-11 in PAC 12 play. They do have nice home wins over Washington and Colorado, but their offense has been severely lacking. Still, the Beavers almost beat the Trojans earlier this season.
When these teams played in early December, Oregon State took an 11-point lead into halftime against USC. They weren’t able to hold on to get the win, but the Beavers only lost by a single point despite being a 13.5-point road underdog per the college basketball betting odds. Oregon State shot 45.5% from beyond the arc with Dexter Akanno leading the way for the Beavers, but they also turned the ball over 15 times and had 21 personal fouls.
USC is in desperate need of a win considering the Trojans are right on the bubble according to the latest Bracketology from ESPN. They were blown out by Oregon on Thursday night, and back-to-back losses would really sting, especially since this would be a second Quad 4 loss. That will lead to the Trojans being a moderate favorite in Corvallis by the CBB betting line.
However, the favorites are in trouble coming into this game. Defensive star Joshua Morgan didn’t travel with the team as he is dealing with an injury, and Reese Dixon-Waters is not expected play on Saturday either. That will deprive USC of two of their best players, and the loss of Morgan is massive considering his impact on the Trojans’ defense.
Oregon State isn’t great on offense and struggles with two-point field goals, but USC is at a severe rebounding disadvantage without Morgan in the lineup. That has the potential to help the Beavers pull off the upset on Saturday night.
Wyoming Cowboys at Boise State Broncos
The Boise State Broncos are in the same boat as the USC Trojans. Boise State is squarely on the bubble and can’t afford another loss, especially against a bad team like Wyoming. The Cowboys are just 7-16 and 2-9 in MWC play. They haven’t won a road game all year, and their best victory all season came against an 11-14 Colorado State squad.
That has led to an exodus in Laramie, and only seven scholarship players are currently on the roster. Leading scorer Noah Reynolds has been benched for the last month after suffering multiple concussions, and USC transfers Ethan Anderson and Max Agbonkpolo and UCLA transfer Jake Kyman were dismissed from the program. There is no real depth anymore, so Boise State should be able to take advantage of this and cruise to a 20+ point victory.
Wyoming has one of the worst defenses in college basketball. The Cowboys rank in the bottom 60 in terms of defensive effective field goal percentage, turnover percentage, and more. They lost by 17 points to Boise State in Laramie earlier this year, and we could see an even more dominant performance on Saturday night.
Max Rice is having a very strong season for the Broncos, averaging 13.8 PPG and 4.8 RPG while making 41.3% of his threes. Tyson Degenhart is the leading scorer on Boise, and he is shooting 53.2% from the floor, while Chibuzo Agbo is making 41% of his threes while averaging 11.5 PPG.
This Boise State team is elite on the defensive end though. The Broncos rank in the top 20 in adjusted efficiency, effective field goal percentage, defensive rebounding, and three-point defense. It’s going to be very difficult for Wyoming to score on this unit considering the circumstances they are in right now, so Boise State should be one of the safest plays on the board.
