College Basketball Parlay Picks for Saturday, February 11, 2023
February 10, 2023The Genesis Invitational Picks
February 14, 2023We suffered a losing night with my college hoops parlay legs last week for the first time since starting this piece up at the beginning of January – what a run it was! That being said, I’m still salty about the end-game of that Maryland/Michigan State matchup and still believe the Terps to be the better of the two squads. Sparty took advantage of some questionable late-game calls to escape with the win and cover. Shame on me for suggesting to lay an inflated price with New Mexico over a Nevada team that I’m now fully convinced has the pieces to make a run in the Madness should Steve Alford’s kids qualify. They’re currently in right now according to ESPN Bracketology – write that down! Thankfully UConn prevented us from taking the collar after holding serve at home in a big way against Marquette. Hopefully we get back to adding to the bankroll at PointsBet Sportsbook with three more investments to confidently throw into parlay cards on Super Tuesday!

Creighton Bluejays vs. Providence Friars
Date and Time: Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at 7 PM EST
Location: Amica Mutual Pavilion, Providence, RI
TV Coverage: FS1
A big one is set to go down in Providence on Tuesday night when Ed Cooley’s troops will look to hold serve against the streaking Creighton Bluejays. We faded Doug McDermott’s kids over the weekend against UConn and cashed a ticket after Baylor Scheierman and Co. came out on top but failed to cover the closing CBB odds. With the squad now just two games in back of Marquette in the standings and set to host the Golden Eagles a week from tonight, I’m all-in on the BJs going into hostile territory and coming out with a win in what’s likely to be a near pick ‘em game.
These clubs squared off against one another back in the middle of January in Omaha where Creighton logged the 73-67 win but failed to cover the closing 7-point spread. However, Providence stormed back late once Creighton took its foot off the gas to kick in the back door. The Bluejays were up by 16 points at one time even though it got destroyed in the battle of the boards (43-29) and allowed Ed Croswell and Co. to reel in 14 offensive caroms! As solid a defensive rebounding team Creighton is (No. 17), I don’t foresee it getting killed on the glass in the rematch. The Bluejays feasted in the paint in the first go-round, and I expect more of the same for Ryan Kalkbrenner and his mates in the second. This will be a fight to the death, but in the end it will be the road team that comes out on top.
BET CREIGHTON
Kansas Jayhawks vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys
Date and Time: Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at 9 PM EST
Location: Gallagher-Iba Arena, Stillwater, OK
TV Coverage: ESPN
So I took the points with the Cowboys when they ventured into the Phog way back on December 31 and came away extremely impressed with Michael Boynton’s kids after competing mightily before falling by a 69-67 final count. They went off the board as 10-point dogs! It’s highly possible Bryce Thompson and Co. open the favored side in the rematch. My hope is that the betting market turns KU into the road chalk and we can get a more attractive plus-money return on the moneyline with the hosts. The only thing that saved KU in the first go-round was an insane showing from beyond the arc (11/23). I don’t expect Jalen Wilson and his mates to experience that same type of success against an OK-State perimeter defense that ranks out amongst the best in the country (No. 17). I’ll just chalk that up to the Phog!
Round two will however be held within Gallagher-Iba and that place is one of the toughest venues to go into and succeed in the Big 12. Oklahoma State has only been tripped up once as hosts in Big 12 play to date (Texas), and that game could’ve gone either way late. The Cowpokes hung with the Jayhawks on the glass (29-33) and forced 12 turnovers. It also shot 43 percent from the field and went off from deep as well by draining 13 of 29 attempts. OK-State possesses the better overall defense and gets the benefit of home court advantage. So long as it doesn’t kill itself with turnovers (No. 312), I expect the Cowboys to defend its house against an opponent that’s 2-3 SU on the Big 12 road that just might invade Stillwater a bit too fat and happy coming off a carefree romp of the Sooners in Norman.
BET OKLAHOMA STATE
Michigan Wolverines vs. Wisconsin Badgers
Date and Time: Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at 9 PM EST
Location: Kohl Center, Madison, WI
TV Coverage: ESPN2
Much will be on the line when the unranked Michigan Wolverines and Wisconsin Badgers square off in the Kohl Center on Super Tuesday. Juwan Howard’s kids enter this tilt off spitting the bit at home against the Indiana Hoosiers. Their inability to win the game cost me a pretty penny last Saturday night – insert pissed off emoji! As for Wiscy, it suffered a gross overtime loss at Nebraska a game removed from beating Penn State in an extra session the game prior. It’s going to be very weird not seeing either of these teams come March Madness should it come to pass.
I love the way this game sets up for both defenses. Michigan for all intents and purposes has been a major disappointment at the offensive end of the court. While I get that Jet Howard is now fully back in the mix, the unit’s failed to eclipse the 70-point plateau in each of its last three B1G road games. The Badgers own the nation’s No. 145 ranked offensive efficiency according to the Pomeroy Ratings. The 79-74 overtime win against the Nittany Lions saw the offense exceed the 70-point plateau for only the second time in conference play. The other saw it put 78 on the board in another overtime win over Iowa way back on December 11! With the matchup likely be played at a snail’s pace and the Wolverines possessing an excelled perimeter defense (No. 64) to take away the Badgers lone offensive strength in shooting the 3-ball (No. 53), look for a defensive clinic to play out which has Wisconsin cashing an under ticket for the fifth time in its last six home games.
