Thursday NBA Parlay Picks for February 22
February 21, 2023States Looking to Audit Cappers
February 22, 2023One thing that is becoming very clear on the PGA Tour this season is that those events with the enhanced prize purses are getting great fields, while the other events are not. This week’s Honda Classic fits into the latter category, with almost all of the world’s top players bypassing the event. Only two players who are in the Top 20 in the latest World Golf Rankings are in the field and they are Sung-jae Im who is ranked No. 18 and Billy Horschel who is ranked No. 19. Im won this event in 2020 and he is listed as the golf betting favorite at BetRivers. Let’s look at The Honda Classic picks.
Venue: PGA National (Champion) is a par 70 that measures 7,125 yards. It was designed by Tom and George Fazio in 1981 and redesigned by Jack Nicklaus in 2002, 2014 and 2018. The course is famous for “The Bear Trap” which is holes 15 through 17.
Last Year: Sepp Straka shot a final round 66 to win by one shot over Shane Lowry. Daniel Berger led the tournament by six shots with 19 holes left but he collapsed on Sunday, shooting at 74 and finished in fourth. Kurt Kitayama finished in third. Alex Noren and Gary Woodland finished in a tie for fifth.

Favorite
Sungjae Im +650
The favorite won last week, as Jon Rahm is starting to make us reconsider not taking golf betting favorites. There is no Rahm in this week’s event and as much as I like Im and his game, I am not taking him at odds this low.
Value Picks
Kuchar, Matt +1800
It was good to see Kuchar play well last week at the Genesis and he is one of the few players in this week’s field who knows how to win. He actually won this event 21 years ago for his first PGA Tour win. Kuchar still ranks highly in scrambling and avoiding bogeys and we know that avoiding mistakes will be important this week.
Pendrith, Taylor +3300
Canadian golfers have played well of late and Pendrith just might be the next one to get to the winner’s circle. He is in his second season on the PGA Tour and there is a lot to like about his play. He finished 7th at Pebble Beach and he finished 26th in this event in his first try. I’ll take him at these odds.
Svensson, Adam +3500
A player to watch this season could be Svensson who won the RSM Classic in November. He is just outside the top 50 in the latest World Golf Rankings. He finished 9th last week at Riviera. Svensson lives just down the road from Palm Beach Gardens so he should be very comfortable this week. Svensson could definitely contend this week.
English, Harris +4000
I am a little surprised the odds on English are this high in what is really a weak field. He played well last week and finished 12th and had a 65 on Sunday. English has done well in his career on Bermudagrass greens with half of his four PGA Tour titles coming on that surface. He has played this event well in the past and in 2020 he was tied for the lead after the first round. I’ll take English this week.
Kim, S.H. +6600
Another player who has longshot odds who can contend this week is Kim who is in his second PGA Tour season. Kim has the game to do well on the Champions Course this week and he knows how to win, as he won in Japan and South Korea. He ranked highly last week in driving and in putting and he just might put everything together this week.
Byeong Hun An +8000
A longshot this week who might just get into the mix is An who lives in the state of Florida. He has had some good rounds this season and he finished 12th at the Sony Open. The field this week isn’t that strong and An could definitely be a contender at big odds.
