College Basketball Parlay Picks for Tuesday, February 28, 2023
February 27, 2023NHL Betting – Thursday, March 2 Parlay Picks
February 28, 2023There isn’t as much value as there usually is for mid-week college basketball. That’s because conference tournaments are starting across the country, so we don’t have a slate overflowing with action. Some teams have already played their final games of the season, and a lot more teams will be starting their offseason over the next week. With that in mind, we are going to look at some more established leagues when betting on college basketball this week.

George Washington Colonials at Davidson Wildcats
Both the George Washington Colonials and the Davidson Wildcats are middle of the pack teams in the Atlantic 10. Georgie Washington is 15-14 and 9-7 in conference play, while Davidson is 14-14 and 7-9 in the A10. However, there is reason to believe that Davidson might be getting ready to make a deep run in the A10 Conference Tournament.
Davidson has looked better on offense in recent weeks, and the Wildcats have won three straight games for the first time since November. They are coming off a big win over the Duquesne Dukes on Sunday, and that proved they couple play some defense as the Dukes shot just 45.5% from the floor. The Wildcats must defend well because with their lack of size, they rank dead last in the country in blocked shot percentage.
George Washington has an above average offense and ranks 43rd in effective field goal percentage. The Colonials rank 11th in two-point percentage as big men Ricky Lindo Jr. and Hunter Dean both have a lot of success inside the perimeter. Brendan Adams is shooting over 57% from inside of three-point range too, while the other two starting guards are making more than half of their two-point attempts.
Davidson is a slightly below average defensive team inside the perimeter, but the Wildcats have done better in this regard in recent weeks. They have a good three-point defense, and that coupled with GW’s struggles with shooting from beyond the arc should make the Colonials rather one-dimensional on offense.
The Wildcats aren’t as proficient on offense as they were when Steph Curry was running the show, but they have a big man that can stretch the floor in Sam Mennenga. Foster Loyer runs the point well, and this team gets to the free throw line relatively often. They should be a solid pick as a short favorite by the CBB betting odds on Wednesday night.
Auburn Tigers at Alabama Crimson Tide
The last week has been tough for the Alabama Crimson Tide given the spotlight being shined on Brandon Miller. The star freshman was having one of the greatest seasons in Crimson Tide history, but then it was reported that he let his former teammate borrow a gun that was used to shoot and kill someone. Miller was seen as the probable No. 3 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, yet that has been completely thrown into question due to his off-court issues.
There has been a question of whether or not he should be playing given the circumstances, but head coach Nate Oats sounds adamant that Miller will continue to play as long as he is not charged with a crime. For his part, Miller appeared to thumb his nose at the situation given the way he was introduced over the weekend, and that led to an immediate backlash.
Given the circumstances, the teenager’s play may begin to fall off as social media turns against him. We have seen social media really affect young basketball players in the past, so it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise to see Miller’s numbers go down over the rest of the year.
This is a tough spot for Miller and Alabama too, as the Crimson Tide will play an Auburn team hungry for a win. The Tigers have lost six of their last nine games in SEC play, so they need a big win to help their NCAA Tournament resume.
In the first game between these teams, Miller really struggled as he went 0 for 7 beyond the three-point line and turned the ball over three times. Alabama trailed most of the game before rallying to win in the end, so Auburn will be a substantial underdog by the CBB betting
