March 31, 2023NBA Parlay Picks for Sunday, April 2, 2023
March 31, 2023It’s not quite the Super Bowl but when it comes to betting on college basketball the NCAA Tournament is a veritable smorgasbord. And just like professional football’s biggest game, March Madness offers a good share of proposition bets in an ever-expanding market. If you’re bracket was busted when No. 1 seed Purdue was upset in the first round, don’t worry you can still add to your bankroll in the prop market at BetRivers sportsbook. Making things more interesting are the teams that reached the final weekend of the season. The Connecticut Huskies are the only program to have played in a Final Four and they are the highest remaining seed at No. 4. UConn also emerged as the betting favorite to win its fifth national championship.
The Huskies are sure to be hit hard on the college basketball tournament odds, but the team that’s captivated the college hoops world is Florida Atlantic. With two more wins the No. 9 Owls will be the lowest-seeded team to win a title. You can always wager on a team or total or you can focus more of your bankroll on a specific player or team stat. With three teams making their debut in the Final Four and two of them from a mid-major, some of the players may not be as well known. Keep in mind, however, that they played great basketball over the last several weeks to get here.
When it comes to individual props you can throw down on a player to go over or under an assigned number of points, rebounds or assists, and in some cases a combination of all three. Most sportsbooks also offer player combos like San Diego State’s Matt Bradley and Darrion Trammell scoring 25 or more points against FAU. Let’s take a look at a few props to see if we can win some money on March Madness.
Matt Bradley and Darrion Trammell (SDSU) 25+ Points ( +120 )
The NCAAB betting odds suggest this isn’t going to happen with the over at +120. That’s probably because Bradley has had a tough time shooting and scoring the basketball in the last three games. San Diego State’s leading scorer during the regular season with 13.0 points per game, Bradley opened the Tournament with 17 points on 7 of 15 shooting but has just 18 points in the last three games combined while going 6 of 27 from the field. Yet the Aztecs reached the Final Four for the first time thanks to other players stepping up. One of those players is Trammell, who reached double figures in the last three games with a team-high 21 points in the win over Alabama. Over that stretch he’s averaging 15.3 points, more than five points higher than his season average. Two of Brian Dutcher’s best players will see a lot of time on the floor barring foul difficulty and I can see them reaching the number for a college basketball odds win on the OVER.
Prediction: Bradley/Trammell OVER 25 ( +120 )
Vladislav Goldin (FAU) 8.5 Points
The Owls hoist a bunch of threes with roughly 45 percent of their total shot attempts coming from behind the arc. That doesn’t bode well for Goldin scoring more than eight points in this matchup. He did, however, have a big game against Kansas State in the Elite Eight scoring 14 points on 6 of 11 shooting and averages 10.3 points for the season. Goldin could have much better numbers if he played more than the 21 minutes he averages. SDSU’s three-point defense makes the OVER on this prop an even better wager. The Aztecs limit opponents to just 27.9 percent from deep and last week they held Alabama and Creighton to a combined 11.4 percent. The perimeter defense should create opportunities in the block and at 7-1 Goldin is likely to snare a few offensive rebounds and putbacks.
Prediction: Goldin OVER 8.5 Points ( -110 )
Jordan Miller (Miami) 14.5 Points
Focusing on the other game let’s take a look at Miami Hurricanes versatile wing Jordan Miller. If the Canes are going to pull off the upset it’ll take a big game from the team’s second leading scorer. Miller averages 15.4 points so just hitting that number makes the OVER a winner. What strikes me about Miller is that he’s been more assertive on the offensive end in the Tournament creating offense off the dribble. Attacking the rim also gets him to the line where he’s been good just adding to his total. In the comeback win over Texas he dropped 27 points without missing a shot. Miller was 7 of 7 from the floor and 13 of 13 from the stripe. Also, he can create in transition and is also comfortable in half court sets.
Prediction: Miller OVER 14.5 Points ( -120 )
