NHL Playoff Picks for Wednesday, April 26, 2023
April 25, 2023Minnesota Sports Betting Legislation Stalls
April 25, 2023With the 2023 NFL Draft just a few days away you can expect the rumors to start flying more than they already have. And as the rumors make the rounds you can expect sportsbooks to adjust their NFL odds. It’s solidly a given that the Carolina Panthers will select a quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick. Ditching a pair of signal-callers from last season then swinging a deal with Chicago for the top pick solidified that idea. The question is which QB they take off the board first. The bigger question, though, is what happens next.
There are plenty of mock drafts floating around the internet and I’ve yet to see two that are exactly the same. And the the so-called experts won’t be right when the names are eventually called leaving it up to the individual risk taker to research the prop bet(s) he/she is wagering on. We saw new props hit the market this week with a few interesting takes. You can now bet on certain players to be drafted among the top 10 and also in the first round. Other NFL betting props sprouting at BetRivers sportsbook include what position a team will use its first round draft pick on. Teams without a first round pick and several others are off the board.

2023 NFL Draft Props
I thought we’d take a closer look at the props mentioned above since they deviate from what earlier articles discussed. Jaxon Smith-Njigba is considered the best wide receiver prospect in the draft and a probable first-rounder. However, his exact position in the draft has varied from expert to expert. According to odds at BetRivers his current draft position has an over/under of 13.5. If you feel confident a team will draft him among the top 10 you can buy the former Buckeye at +1000.
Green Bay Packers First Drafted Position
Defensive Line +150
Tight End +240
Offensive Line +300
Wide Receiver +300
Cornerback +1000
Safety +2000
Linebacker +2500
Quarterback +7500
Running Back +7500
PK / P / LS +20000
Every team with a first round pick, with the exception of a few, has NFL odds for each of the 10 categories. I randomly selected Green Bay because I did want to dive into them deeper with changes imminent. It seems like a foregone conclusion that Aaron Rodgers will play elsewhere this season leaving Jordan Love in charge. That leads me to believe the Pack will use the 15th pick on a player from the offensive side of the football, and a lineman makes a lot of sense. There are several impact players available and I can easily see Green Bay going that route considering the issues they’ve had up front over the last few seasons. The club didn’t help Rodgers with a playmaking receiver and losing Alan Lazard leaves a big hole making that position a definite possibility and the transition to a new QB smoother.
Drafted in Top 10 of 2023 NFL Draft
Christian Gonzalez -250
Bijan Robinson -130
Nolan Smith +125
Lukas Van Ness +250
What happens with the top picks has a ripple effect throughout the remaining selections. Nobody knows for sure who’s going where making the entire draft and betting on it a crapshoot. This particular prop and others like it are a little different in that we’re betting on a range instead of a number. I mentioned Smith-Njigba earlier and his price to be taken among the top 10. Should he climb that far he has a nice payout at +1000, but there’s a reason his price is where it is. Every team currently in the top 10 has other pressing needs that can be addressed with the talent available. Not only do the first few selections have an impact on the rest of the first round so do trades and there’s a good chance we see a few of those. Still, I don’t think teams will trade up for a receiver. Barring a trade there’s one player who could sneak into the top 10 with a hefty payout. The Eagles need help on the offensive line and Broderick Jones ( +600 ) is a player they’re targeting at No. 10.
