UFC Odds – UFC Fight Night: Vettori vs. Cannonier
June 15, 2023MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Friday, June 16
June 15, 2023As college baseball has become more popular over the last few years, we have seen an uptick when it comes to betting on the College World Series. ESPN has covered a lot more college baseball and softball, and attention will turn in that direction with the NBA and NHL crowning their champions earlier this week. One of the most fun things to track too is the Jello Shot Challenge at Rocco’s. Fans of Ole Miss and Arkansas had a legendary competition last year that saw the Rebels eventually order a whopping 18,777 jello shots during the CWS.
Betting on the 2023 College Baseball World Series
Oral Roberts +138
TCU -180
The biggest longshot to win the College Baseball World Series is Oral Roberts. The Golden Eagles were easily the best team in the Summit League, but they were disrespected by the Selection Committee and slotted as a No. 4 seed into the Stillwater Regional with Oklahoma State despite being 43-11. They have proven the committee wrong several times over be being the only No. 4 seed to win its region, and then they outlasted the Oregon Ducks in a high-scoring Super Regional that saw Oregon score 22 runs and Oral Roberts plate 27 runs.
Oral Roberts has been great on offense throughout the CWS, but the Golden Eagles will have their hands full with TCU freshman starter Kole Klecker. We saw Klecker thrive in the Super Regional against Indiana State, striking out nine while allowing just four baserunners in seven innings of shutout ball. That’s enough to back TCU as a moderate favorite by the college baseball betting odds.

Virginia -109
Florida -120
These are two of the best teams in the CWS. The oddsmakers have made Florida a slight favorite in this game due to their superb pitching, but Virginia can mash. The Wahoos scored at least 12 runs in half of their postseason games to this point, and they have four players with an OPS well over 1.000 in Kyle Teel, Ethan Anderson, Ethan O’Donnell, and Jake Gelof.
Florida can mash too and has two elite power hitters in Wyatt Langford and Jac Caglianone. Both players have a slugging percentage over .760, and Caglianone finished the season with 31 home runs in 65 games. We haven’t seen UVA’s best pitchers give up many long balls though, so the best bet is on the Cavaliers as a narrow underdog.

Stanford +155
Wake Forest -210
It’s been 68 years since the last time the Wake Forest Demon Deacons made it to the College World Series. Wake Forest is the No. 1 overall seed at the CWS though as the Demon Deacons have been superb all season to get to this point. They have won four of their five games in the NCAA Tournament by at least 12 runs, and they have outscored their opponents by an overall margin of 75-16 in those games.
Stanford is somewhat fortunate to be here. The Cardinal had a lot of trouble with Texas A&M in the Regional and Texas in the Super Regional, and they needed a Longhorns player to lose a pop-up in the lights to advance to Omaha. Their pitching has been good, but not great, and they will need a great start from Quinn Mathews in order to feel good about their chances going forward. Mathews has 152 strikeouts in 120 innings as Stanford’s ace, but it won’t be enough to stop Wake Forest.

Tennessee +148
LSU -195
Although Tennessee dropped 2 of 3 games against LSU in Baton Rouge earlier this season, I like the Vols’ chances here on Saturday. Tennessee has shown a good bit of improvement, and the Vols are raking as a team. Eight players have an OPS of at least .899, and they are averaging almost two home runs a game this season.
LSU hit a few more home runs than Tennessee during the regular season, and the Bayou Bengals have the player that is widely considered the best in the sport in center fielder Dylan Crews. He has a .735 slugging percentage and a .576 on-base percentage for an OPS over 1.300.
