Allegations Against Colts Reveal Gaps
June 21, 2023UFC Odds – UFC Fight Night: Emmett vs. Topuria
June 22, 2023Last Thursday’s MLB Same Game Parlay Picks ended up 2-1 over at BetRivers Sportsbook and we would’ve swept the board had Shohei Ohtani surpassed his K prop. Though there were 14 combined hits and 32 LOB, the combined score still went under and Texas failed to exceed its team total. Marcus Stroman and the Cubs beasted to yet another win to set up a series sweep of the Pirates, and the Dodgers came back to walk it off against the White Sox with Dylan Cease just coming up short of surpassing his pitching outs prop. Let’s see if we can’t bang out a few more same game parlay winners on Thursday’s abbreviated slate – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Washington Nationals
Fingers crossed Mother Nature doesn’t play a role in the series opener between the D’backs and Nationals with a pair of gas cans set to square off against one another in the forms of Tommy Henry and Jake Irvin. We faded both of these pitchers in their last start with the former going up against Cleveland and the latter Miami. With both the Guardians and Marlins leaving a bit to be desired in the offensive department, each was able to survive and actually improve upon their outputs. I don’t expect lightning to strike the same place twice! The Nats actually prefer LHP with the offense averaging 4.5 runs per game which has seen the over cash at a 16-10-1 clip. The Snakes have been pretty solid overall, but much deadlier against RHP who they’ve ripped for 5.3 runs per game (No. 5) and a .784 OPS (No. 4). They’ve also destroyed the 4-seamer, curve, and sinker per Baseball Savant and those pitch types just so happen to represent Irvin’s complete arsenal. We could struggle to get Washington over its team total if Henry’s slider is on once again, but he’s been much worse away from the desert (6.75 ERA). This should be a slugfest!

San Diego Padres vs. San Francisco Giants
I get that the Giants are playing with their hair on fire right now having rattled off eight straight wins after walking it off in extras against the Friars in Monday’s series opener, but Blake Snell also finds himself in too good a groove not to take a stab with the visitors in the finale of this crucial extended series. Since getting out to a horrific first month of his 2023 campaign, Snell has shown marked improvement with every passing start. He only conceded 25 hits (4 HR) and 14 ER with an 8.5 K/9 for the month of May, and has since followed it up with only seven hits and 1 ER allowed with a 32:6 K/BB ratio through three June outings. The dude’s locked in and of the elite tier when his secondaries are all garnering whiffs and strikes to complement his nasty 4-seamer. That’s exactly what’s happening right now with the lefty only allowing 2 ER over his last 30 IP! Shame on Juan Soto and co. if they can’t get to the fossil otherwise known as Alex Wood and put him in a position to lock up win No. 4 of the baseball betting season.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Miami Marlins
One of Thursday’s best pitching matchups on the MLB betting slate has the Pirates’ Mitch Keller squaring off against the Marlins’ Braxton Garrett in the opener of this extended four-game series. Though the former has had it rough since the calendar turned to June after lighting it up in both April and May, I expect Keller to bring his “A” game to the yard knowing full well the Marlins offense is one he can excel against in a big way. Ever since that crazy showdown against George Kirby at Seattle in a game I had pegged as a surefire under – 17 runs were put on the board – things have gone sideways for No. 23. However, Miami has some issues with the cutter and sinker per Baseball Savant so the righty is a good bet to put himself in a position to earn the quality start. After coming out guns blazed in April (2.45 ERA), Garrett went through a major rough patch in early May (5.46 ERA) but has since settled allowing two or fewer earned runs in six of his last seven starts. He’s rung up 48 strikeouts and only walked eight during that stretch leading Miami to wins in seven of his last eight starts. I think the success continues with Garrett shining and Miami continuing its bid to lockdown a wildcard spot.
