USFL Betting – Championship Game Odds and Picks
June 30, 2023MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Saturday, July 1
June 30, 2023Last Friday’s MLB Same Game Parlays ended up 2-1 over at PointsBet Sportsbook with the Angels once again proving to be poisonous to our bottom line. Seriously, how do you drop two of three in Coors and score 23 in one game and combine for seven in the other two?! The Mariners and Giants made it a day in the black however after taking care of business against the Orioles and Diamondbacks respectively. Here’s to kicking the weekend off right with some winning parlay picks – SLAM YOUR MAN!!
Bet Major League Baseball at PointsBet Sportsbook
San Diego Padres vs. Cincinnati Reds
I’ll be placing a wager on the Reds to win this series once PointsBet opens the market Friday morning. Has there been a bigger disappointment this MLB betting season than that of the San Diego Padres? On the flipside, has there been a better story than that of the Cincinnati Reds? I was beating the drum for Cincy well before the team caught fire and continue to believe it has it in it to win the NL Central. They currently own a half-game lead over the Brew Crew for bragging rights. The Friars sit 10.5-games out in the NL West and 8-games out of the wild card picture. The team’s cost MLB bettors a whopping $1,522 overall which puts it in the company of the Cardinals and Mets as 2023’s biggest money burners. I don’t care one bit that Yu Darvish owns a 3.07 ERA and .190 batting average against through five career GAB starts! This is a much different Reds lineup that enters this series white hot having averaged 6.4 runs per game over the last week. He’s also been horrendous away from Petco where his 6.16 ERA is nearly double! Don’t let Graham Ashcraft’s showing against Atlanta scare you away – the Braves are the best team in the NL.

Boston Red Sox vs. Toronto Blue Jays
“The Big Maple” had a scare last time out in Chicago where he was hooked after only throwing 63 pitches through four innings due to what was feared to be a knee injury. No worse for the wear, James Paxton will return to the bump for Friday’s crucial series opener with the Toronto Blue Jays whom Boston currently looks up at in the AL East standings. I’m not sure it’s the wisest of decisions due to Paxton’s injury history, but the Red Sox are desperate for wins now sitting 14 games out in the division and 4.5-games out in the wild card race. As for Toronto, it currently holds the final wild card slot in the AL with it 44-37 and down $222 for MLB bettors on the season. That being said, Vlad Guerrero Jr. and his mates have been playing the better brand of ball of late coming out victorious against the baseball odds in five of their last seven games. Jose Berrios has been nothing if not consistently solid throughout his 16 made starts in going 8-5 with a 3.60 ERA and 21 percent K Rate (No. 91). The righty has also been at his absolute best at home where his ERA is nearly 2+ runs lower than when on the road. Toronto has come out victorious in eight of his L/11 made starts with four of his last five being of quality. Look for the BJs to hold serve and take the series opener.

New York Yankees vs. St. Louis Cardinals
Though Luis Severino tossed six innings of shutout ball against the potent offense of the Rangers last time out, I’m not buying into that start being the turning point of his 2023 campaign. His fastball was either right down the middle or completely out of the zone. He only got one swing and miss on the 25 thrown changeups. Before that start, the right-hander had been gotten for three or more earned runs in four straight starts. Sorry, but this dude is far from being back and I expect a Cardinals offense that’s been all or nothing recently to put forth a good showing even though its averaging nearly a full run less against RHP than LHP. Matthew Liberatore made a spot start against the Cubs in London this past weekend. Though all four runs given up were of the unearned variety due to his defense making a rare error that proved costly, he still served up four hits and walked a pair through his 2.2 innings of work. Allowing 4.6 walks and 10.2 hits per nine innings, the southpaw will have his hands full with a Yankees offense that averages 5.4 runs per game against LHP (No. 6).
