June 30, 2023MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Sunday, July 2
June 30, 2023The Baltimore Ravens are gearing up for the 2023 NFL betting season with high hopes of locking down another Super Bowl title under John Harbaugh’s watch. Though the team went 10-7 and secured another bid to the playoffs – the fourth in the last five seasons – the conclusion of the 2022-23 season left a bad taste in NFL bettors’ mouths due to the injury bug’s decimation of the roster. What would’ve happened had Lamar Jackson not suffered that season–ending knee injury? What if J.K. Dobbins was in the backfield for more than eight regular season games? How much better would the passing game have been if Rashod Bateman and Devin Duvernay were healthy all season? When 100 percent, this team is a bona fide Super Bowl contender! But that’s just it – the team never seems to stay healthy. Can they buck the trend in 2022-23? Let’s delve into the team’s win total odds at PointsBet and make some predictions about the Baltimore Ravens upcoming campaign.
Baltimore Ravens: Just Stay Healthy!
Before we dive into the Ravens’ outlook for the 2023 season, let’s take a quick look back at their performance the previous year. The Ravens finished with a 10-7 record, earning a spot in the playoffs. Despite facing injuries to key players, including star quarterback Lamar Jackson, the team managed to secure a playoff berth. Though they bowed out in the wild-card round against the division rival Bengals, Baltimore managed to cover the closing NFL odds as 7.5-point underdogs. After going 6-9-2 against the spread in the regular season, Baltimore went out with a bang!
Since winning the AFC North in both 2018 and 2019, it’s been a pair of second and one last place finish for the Ravens the last three seasons. The common denominator of all three teams were injuries, and it remains to be seen if this roster has the ability to go unscathed over a full 17 game schedule. If it does, look out! But if it doesn’t, there’s going to be many NFL bettors ripping up over tickets well before the season comes to an end.

Baltimore Ravens Season Wins Total: 10.5
One of the most popular NFL betting options is the season win total, which allows bettors to predict the number of victories a team will achieve throughout the regular season. The Baltimore Ravens win total is currently 10.5 over at PointsBet Sportsbook with -125 juice supplanted on the under. Baltimore has failed to exceed its win total odds for three straight seasons. Because of it, oddsmakers initially opened this year’s win total at 9.5 with heavy juice on the over. Once Lamar Jackson got his deal, the betting market pushed it up to 10 and then 10.5 where it currently sits.
The Case for the Over
There are several reasons to believe that the Baltimore Ravens can exceed their projected win total of 10.5 games in the upcoming season. Lamar Jackson’s impact can’t be denied. Baltimore is simply just a different team with No. 8 healthy and under center. The overall performance of the Ravens QB1 will be crucial to the teams’ success. Jackson is a dynamic playmaker who can single-handedly change the outcome of games. If he can stay healthy and continue to showcase his exceptional skills, the Ravens’ offense will be a formidable force once again. The Ravens made key additions to their receiving corps in the offseason. Acquiring Odell Beckham Jr. and drafting Zay Flowers brings much-needed talent and depth to the passing game. These new weapons, along with the reliable Mark Andrews at tight end, can help elevate the Ravens’ offense to new heights.
Baltimore boasts a strong defense that ranked amongst the best in the league last season. With playmakers like Marlon Humphrey and Roquan Smith, the Ravens have the ability to shut down opposing offenses and keep games within reach. Don’t put it past this unit from winning games by itself should the offense have an off day – it’s that good! And then there’s Mr. Reliable himself, Justin Tucker, who still remains one of the best kickers to ever play the game. With the win on the line, there arguably isn’t anyone better in the business than No. 9.
While the Ravens have a promising outlook, there are also factors that could hinder their ability to exceed 10.5 wins. As nauseatingly stated already, the injury bug has plagued the Ravens in recent seasons, particularly impacting Lamar Jackson’s availability. If key players, including Jackson, suffer injuries or miss extended time, it could significantly impact the team’s overall performance. The AFC North looks to be extremely competitive heading into the regular season with the Cincinnati Bengals looking to take home bragging rights a third straight season and both the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers improving in the offseason. These divisional matchups can be challenging and could potentially prevent the Ravens from accumulating enough wins to surpass their win total.
The Ravens lost key defensive players in the offseason, including Calais Campbell and Marcus Peters. Replacing their contributions will be crucial for maintaining the team’s defensive strength. If the new additions and returning players struggle to fill these gaps, it could impact the Ravens’ ability to win consistently. Baltimore also earned a solid 6-4 record in one-possession games last season. However, close games can often swing in either direction, and the team’s ability to come out on top in those situations may not be sustainable. A regression in these close contests could hinder their chances of surpassing their win total.

Baltimore Ravens Season Win Total Analysis
Considering the team’s history of injuries and the competitive nature of the AFC North, it’s wise to approach the Ravens’ win total with caution; especially considering it hit the board below 10 wins for the first time since 2019. However, if key players stay healthy, the offense clicks, and the defense remains formidable, the Ravens have a realistic chance to exceed their win total and challenge the Bengals for division supremacy. Color me unimpressed. There’s simply just too many question marks for me to buy into the Ravens in 2022-23. I don’t know how much of a difference maker Beckham Jr. will be before he gets hurt and is lost for the season. It’s painful watching Dobbins run. I hope he’s 100 percent healed and can stay healthy.
It’ll be interesting to see how the offense adapts to the new philosophies of former Georgia OC Todd Monken. While the defense will once again be one of the more formidable units in the league, I’ll pay up to see if the offense can give it the relief needed so as to prevent it from burning out early once again. Would it shock me if the Ravens win 11+ games and challenge for division bragging rights? No. However, I’m higher on the Steelers and Browns than most and think the division will be a gauntlet. Set to take on the toughest schedule strength of the four teams per Sharp Football Analysis, I’ll hit the under preseason and see how it plays out early to see if any in-season win total odds investments should be made.
