MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Sunday, July 23
July 21, 2023MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Monday, July 24
July 21, 2023We ended up taking the collar with last Saturday’s MLB Same Game Parlays over at BetRivers Sportsbook though we did cash two legs in each of the three-leg SGPs. Though the Marlins went over their team total and bounced Kyle Gibson before he could surpass his pitching outs prop, the bullpen let us down ultimately preventing Miami from cashing in on the moneyline. Reid Detmers went over his pitching outs prop and the Angels came out on top of the 13-12 slugfest, but we were also invested in the F5 under. The SGP in the SD/PHI matchup was no action with Blake Snell’s start pushed back. Let’s see if we can bang out some parlay winners this Saturday – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

Colorado Rockies vs. Miami Marlins
So we had a fade of Colorado all cued up with Connor Seabold on the bump for Friday’s series opener in Miami. But since writing Friday’s parlay picks piece, the Rockies decided to push his start to Saturday. So instead of fading him with Braxton Garrett on the bump, we’ll do so instead with Jesus Luzardo who will be extremely motivated after seeing his personal two-game win streak snapped in St. Louis by the Cardinals who made him work in a big time way. Though the lefty only conceded 2 ER, he walked three and only fanned a pair all the while needing to throw 92 pitches just to make it through four frames. The outing matched his shortest of the year, so he’ll come in extremely rested. As for Seabold, the righty has done nothing but toss batting practice since being thrust into the starting rotation due to injuries; he’s holding onto the gig due to even more injuries. He’ll toe the bump for start No. 14 the owner of a 1-7 record and bloated 7.18 ERA. His three July starts that lasted 11.0 total innings have seen him get wrecked for 20 hits (5 HR) and 17 ER! After getting swept by the Orioles and Redbirds out of the break, the Fish will be out for blood through the weekend – let’s bank off it!

Baltimore Orioles vs. Tampa Bay Rays
I think it’s cute that Framber Valdez is the current 2-1 favorite to take home the AL Cy Young Award this MLB betting season. I also think it’s funny that Gerrit Cole and Kevin Gausman currently possess shorter odds than my guy Shane McClanahan (+500). That my friend is a buying opportunity if I’ve ever seen one should you not have any preseason shares of the Rays left-hander in the portfolio. The southpaw missing the first couple weeks of July afforded his competition to open voters’ eyes, but that wasn’t done. Though he ended up taking a no-decision in his return to the bump against the Rangers on Monday, the lefty looked no worse for the wear after tossing six innings of 2 ER ball with a perfect 6:0 K/BB ratio. He only needed to throw 69 pitches to get through six innings! Grayson Rodriguez can only dream about that efficiency right now with the rookie struggling mightily in his first go round in the Bigs. Though he looked more like the uber prospect he was said to be in his return to the O’s starting rotation against the Dodgers, his stuff still wasn’t as effective as it needs to be to keep powerhouse offenses in check. Tonight will be a learning experience for the young righty as he watches the soon to be AL Cy Young winner do his thang.

San Francisco Giants vs. Washington Nationals
The Giants are on another one of their patented heaters having logged wins in eight of their last 10 games to propel themselves right back into the thick of the NL West pennant chase. Winners of the three series played going in and coming out of the All-Star break, San Francisco will have an excellent shot to snag the catbird seat this weekend with the Dodgers squaring off against the Rangers in Texas and the D’backs locking horns with the Reds in the GAB where they just took two of three. Though Washington has been playing a competitive brand of ball recently winning a series and taking at least one game in each of the last two, the team continues to be tormented by a bullpen that rates out as one of the worst in the Bigs. That’s not a good omen knowing just 32 percent of Josiah Gray’s starts have been of quality with the right-hander failing to see the sixth inning in any of his July starts. With Logan Webb and the Giants offense being in grooves with the former allowing just 2 ER while owning a 28:2 K/BB ratio in July and the latter averaging 5.4 runs in its last seven games, I’m backing the visitors on the MLB odds with confidence.
