MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Sunday, July 30
July 28, 2023MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Tuesday, August 1
July 31, 2023Last Monday’s MLB Same Game Parlays ended up 1-0 over at BetRivers Sportsbook with the SGP’s involving the Astros and Padres cancelled due to unforeseen pitching changes. I stated that the Detroit Tigers were in potentially one of the best situational spots of the MLB betting season, and that proved to be the case with a lethargic Giants team in town for a makeup after dropping five straight which included getting swept by the Nationals. Tarik Skubal beasted and put Detroit in a position to secure the worry-free victory. Let’s close the month of July by adding to the bankroll with some parlay pick winners – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Washington Nationals
We faded Corbin Burnes his last time out at home against the Cincinnati Reds and lived to tell about it. The third time proved to be the charm after fading him in his two prior starts against the Redlegs only to have the former Cy Young winner stuff it down our throats. Though ultimately outdueled by Andrew Abbott, Burnes was still solid in conceding just three hits and 2 ER while fanning six and issuing a lone free pass. The showing kept his quality start streak intact for the month of July which currently chimes in at five straight. I think he’ll be in a position to make it six in a row kicking off this series against a Washington offense that hits for a decent average (No. 6), but only plates 4.29 runs per game (No. 22) and hit the second fewest homers in the game.
While the Brewers offense also leaves a bit to be desired with it ranking out in the bottom third of MLB in all pertinent stat categories, it gets the benefit of running up against Jake Irvin whose had a pretty miserable debut in the Bigs evidenced by a near 5.00 ERA that’s been hampered by serving up 9.0 hits and 3.9 walks per nine innings. The righty has served up at least one long ball in each of his last six starts as well as 3+ ER in five of those six. The Brewers owning the third highest walk rate in the league isn’t a recipe for success.

Cincinnati Reds vs. Chicago Cubs
A huge series kicks off in Wrigley Monday night when the Cubs return home to host the Cincinnati Reds in a pivotal NL Central clash. I think a sneaky pitcher’s duel is set to play out with Andrew Abbott set to square off against Marcus Stroman who will be looking to bounce back from back-to-back poor outings in which he got ripped for 16 hits and 11 ER through just seven combined innings of work. While Cincy is lacking in the pitching department, it looks to have a good one in Abbott whose thrived in his rookie campaign going 6-2 with a 1.90 ERA and 9.6 K/9. The Reds have come out on top in all but two of his 10 made starts, and the rook has been pretty sensational on the road where he stands 4-1 with a 2.25 ERA and 29:10 K/BB ratio.
Cody Bellinger and co. has never seen his stuff, so that immediately gives him the upper hand right out the chute. While Chicago has been ripping the cover off the ball since the All-Star break, this will be a tough test. Same goes for the Reds opposing Stroman even with the righty currently out of sorts. Lifetime versus the ‘Natti’s current roster, Stro owns a .194 batting average against and is yet to serve up a single long ball. If ever there was a spot for him to get back on track this is it with Cincinnati’s offense being highly inefficient over the last 10 days.

Boston Red Sox vs. Seattle Mariners
The Red Sox enter the weekend smoking white hot having destroyed the month of July in winning 14 of 18 played games against the MLB odds to make the AL East pennant chase that much more interesting. You might want to entertain the thought of taking a flier on them to win the division just in case this hot streak spills over into the final two months of the regular season. BetRivers currently has them lined 50-1! Be that as it may, we’ll be fading Justin Turner and co. in this one with the offense set to square off against my main man George Kirby who’s come through for us a number of times when backing him at T-Mobile Park. Save for the headscratcher against Detroit in his first start out of the break, Kirby has been dialed in throughout July leading Seattle to wins in his other four starts. At home, the righty has been superb in going 6-3 with a 3.38 ERA and sensational 64:5 K/BB ratio.
Though Rafael Devers has gotten the best of him in their eight total standoffs, Kirby has handled his business against all the other Boston bats that’ve opposed him in the past. While it’s tough to fade Brayan Bello as great a season the second-year hurler is currently in the midst of, he just might have hit a wall having served up at least 1 HR in each of his last four starts while also allowing 25 hits and 14 ER in those 23 innings of work. Look for the M’s to take the opener and set the tone for the series.
