August 8, 2023MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Wednesday, August 9
August 8, 2023The FedExCup Playoffs begin this week with the top 70 players in FedExCup points in the field. The top 50 players in points after this event is completed will advance to next week’s BMW Championship. The big three of Jon Rahm, Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are the top three golf betting choices this week, with Rahm listed as a slight betting favorite at BetRivers. Rahm leads the FedExCup standings by 174 points over Scheffler. This year’s FedExCup Playoffs are a bit different, so there is no taking a week off for the top players in Memphis. FedExCup points are quadrupled this week, meaning the winner receives 2,000 FedExCup points. Let’s look at FedEx St. Jude Championship picks.
Venue: TPC Southwind is a par 70 that measures 7,243 yards. The course has numerous lakes, streams and ponds to make things interesting.
Last Year: Will Zalatoris won this event a year ago for his first PGA Tour title. He defeated Sepp Straka on the third playoff hole. Brian Harman and Lucas Glover tied for third, while there was a seven-way tie for fifth.

Rahm, Jon +650
I sound like a broken record when talking about golf betting favorites, but yet another one lost last week. On very rare occasions the favorite to win a golf tournament will deliver, but not very often, and definitely not often enough to make playing favorites worthwhile. I almost never back favorites and I am not taking Rahm at a number this low.
Value Picks
Scheffler, Scottie +700
Anytime you give me the best player in the world in a role that is not the favorite you can sign me up. I don’t think there is any question the Scheffler is the best player in the world. He ranks highly in a number of categories including Stokes Gained: Tee-to-Green. In his last 38 starts, Scheffler has six wins. I’ll take Scheffler to get the win this week.
Tyrrell Hatton +1800
It has been a really good season for Hatton who ranks highly in a number of categories, but he has yet to get a win. He has finished in the top 30 in 13 of his 18 starts. He is very good with his short to middle irons and TPC Southwind is a course where mid iron play is very important. Could Hatton break his winless drought here?
Morikawa, Collin +2800
It is hard to believe that Morikawa has not won in two years. TPC Southwind sets up well for Morikawa who ranks highly in GIR and Approach. He has putted well on Bermudagrass greens recently and this could be a really good week for him and we get odds of 28-1.
Tony Finau +3300
You would think that Finau is a lock for the Ryder Cup, but he doesn’t think so and motivation is a big thing in golf. Finau believes that he needs to play really well the next three weeks. He ranks highly in Strokes Gained: Approach and he is in the Top 20 in GIR. I think there is some value in Finau this week.
Straka, Sepp +6600
Straka lost in a playoff last year so we know he likes this course. He is also playing as well as he ever has. He is competing for a Ryder Cup spot and a win would definitely lock him into a spot. Don’t sleep on Straka’s chances this week.
