August 10, 2023MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Sunday, August 13
August 11, 2023We ended up cashing two of three MLB Same Game Parlays over at PointsBet Sportsbook last Friday and would’ve swept the board had the Arizona Diamondbacks not choked the win away in the ninth at Minnesota after Merrill Kelly gave them six innings of 2 ER ball with 9 K. The Astros and Orioles got us in the green however after logging 7-3 and 10-3 wins against the Yankees and Mets respectively to easily surpass their respective team totals. Here’s to kicking the weekend off in the black once again with some winning parlay picks – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

Cincinnati Reds vs. Pittsburgh Pirates
Now that the negative regression monster’s visit to Cincinnati looks to be over, it’s once again time to hop back on board the Reds money train and look for David Bell’s troops to get back to winning baseball games. With three set to go in PNC and two back home against the likely Jose Ramirez-less Guardians, now is the time for Elly De La Cruz and his mates to get back on track with the NL Central pennant there for the taking. Currently, ‘Natti sits 1.5-games out of first place tied with the Cubs behind the front running Brewers. With zero games remaining on the docket against Milwaukee and a four game series set to go against Chicago to kick off September, the Reds must remain a threat for bragging rights by taking care of business against the lesser opposition that remains on the 2023 docket. Pittsburgh fits the criteria with the Pirates nine-games out and the owner of a sub .500 home record. Though Andrew Abbott enters start No. 13 in a rut while Johan Oviedo is currently tossing some of his best ball of the MLB betting season, the Reds will come out determined having been swept in PNC when they last made an appearance way back at the end of April.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Chicago White Sox
Dating back to the beginning of July, Corbin Burnes has been locked in having allowed two or fewer earned runs in each of his last seven starts. Though walks have been an issue of late having served up seven in his last two starts against the Nationals and Pirates, Chicago has been the absolute worst team in the league at taking free passes evidenced by their pathetic 6.5 walk percentage. The White Sox have also had a terrible time of it putting runs on the board with it going for three or fewer in six of its last nine played games. Current bats on the Southsider’s roster own a .217 batting average against the Brew Crew’s righty. The wild card here is Michael Kopech who for all intents and purposes hasn’t turned into the arm Chicago thought it drafted year’s back. That being said, the righty looked much improved last time out against Cleveland with his velocity back up in the mid-90s. Milwaukee’s offense remains a detriment to the team’s overall success, so I expect Kopech to be up to the task of competing in one of the more underrated pitcher duels of the night.

San Diego Padres vs. Arizona Diamondbacks
Blake Snell is the current ERA leader in the Bigs clocking in at 2.61 through 124.0 total innings of work. As such, he’s currently listed as one of the top dogs (+250) to secure the NL Cy Young Award over at PointsBet. That being said, San Diego has only won 10 of his 23 overall starts which lets it be known just how disappointing a season it’s been for the underachieving Padres. The Friars near $192 million payroll has produced a grand total of 55 wins and 59 losses at the time of this writing – good for a -$1,937 return on investment for $100 MLB bettors. The team currently sits in fourth place within the NL West and sits seven-games out of the wild-card picture. We suffered a nasty loss backing the Friars to kick-off the week at home against the Dodgers, and I fully expect to get that donation back and some with Ryne Nelson and his bloated 5.16 ERA set to be installed a hefty home dog in this matchup. I think Monday was SD’s breaking point and will gladly back the Snakes in their own yard where they were pretty dominant before the All-Star break.
