MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Thursday, August 17
August 15, 2023NFL Preseason Week 2 Odds and Picks
August 16, 2023The FedExCup Playoffs continue this week with the BMW Championship with the top 50 players in FedExCup points in the field. The top 30 players in points after this event is completed will advance to next week’s TOUR Championship. The big three of Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm and Scottie Scheffler are the top three golf betting choices this week, with McIlroy listed as a slight betting favorite at BetRivers. Last week it was Lucas Glover winning for the second straight week, while Patrick Cantlay finished second and McIlroy tied for third. Glover will be looking to win three straight events, something that has been done just twice on the PGA Tour since 2004. Cantlay has won the past two BMW Championships, so he will be looking to win the title three straight times. Let’s look at BMW Championship picks.
Venue: Olympia Fields Country Club (North Course) is a par 70 that measures 7,366 yards. The course features eight holes where water is in play and the course has a total of 91 bunkers.
Last Year: Patrick Cantlay defended his title last year, winning by one shot against Scott Stallings. Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele tied for third. The last time the BMW Championship was held at Olympia Fields it was Jon Rahm beating Dustin Johnson in a playoff.

Favorite
McIlroy, Rory +700
The golf betting favorite lost again last week and golf betting favorites lose almost every week. McIlroy could break the streak, but I still can’t take him. McIlroy has been great on this course in the past and he comes in playing well, as he shot a final round 65 last week. The problem I have with taking Rory is that he is listed as the betting favorite and that means he is a no-play for me.
Value Picks
Cantlay, Patrick +900
Why not Cantlay winning this event for the third year in a row? He easily could have won last week, but hit it into the water on the first playoff hole. Cantlay usually does well on this course and his overall stats place him among the top players in the world. Last week’s playoff loss shouldn’t affect him.
Morikawa, Collin +2200
The player who is second on the PGA Tour in Strokes Gained: Approach the Green is Morikawa. He ranks behind Scheffler, who leads in a number of categories. I would back Scheffler this week but he simply can’t make any putts. Morikawa is capable of getting hot with the putter and we get him at odds of 22-1.
Homa, Max +2500
Homa played well last week at the St. Jude and he comes into this event ranked highly in Strokes Gained Off-the-Tee. He normally does well on courses that demand driving distance and accuracy. Homa has proven he can win against the best in the world and I expect him to contend this week.
Hoge, Tom +20000
The price on Hoge is simply insane. He is playing with house money, as he birdied the last three holes a week ago to make the BMW Championship. He is not without a chance this week, as he ranks in the Top 10 on the PGA Tour in Shots Gained: Approach the Green. It was proven last week that a longshot can win, as Glover won at odds of 70-1. I’ll take a small flyer on Hoge.
