MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Friday, August 18
August 16, 2023UFC Odds – UFC 292: Sterling vs. O’Malley
August 17, 2023The BMW Championship takes place this week with the top 50 players in FedExCup points looking to advance to next week’s TOUR Championship. The top three players in the latest World Golf Rankings are the top three favorites this week on the golf betting odds board, with not much separating Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm. Bettors are backing Scheffler slightly, as he is listed just ahead of McIlroy in golf betting odds at BetRivers. It was ugly last week with the matchups at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, but I have usually bounced back from a bad week with a good one, so we’ll look for that trend to continue this week. Let’s look at BMW Championship matchup picks.
Defending Champion: Patrick Cantlay
Tournament Notes: The top 30 in FedExCup points at the end of this event will advance to next week’s TOUR Championship in Atlanta. This event at Olympia Fields is all about hitting the fairways. In the 2019-20 season, Olympia Fields had the toughest fairways to hit on the PGA Tour. The course is a par 70 that was the second-hardest par 70 on the PGA Tour in 2020. The greens at Olympia Fields are small so putting shouldn’t be as important as it is in most weeks so perhaps that will help Scheffler who has struggled mightily to make putts in recent weeks.

Golf Picks
Grillo, Emiliano -125 vs. Kirk, Chris
Grillo has seven Top 20 finishes in the last four months. He has thrived thanks to his putter which has been hot for months. Kirk has done well just to finish in the Top 50 and I don’t see him making any kind of charge this week into the Top 30.
Im, Sungjae -115 vs. Harman, Brian
Im sure turned things on last week with a tie for 6th and he also had a tie for 14th at Wyndham. I don’t see how Harman can contend this week on a course that is long. I just don’t think he has the distance off the tee and his putting prowess won’t do him much good on this course. I’ll take Im in this matchup.
Matsuyama, Hideki -125 vs. Burns, Sam
Matsuyama rallied last week to make it into this event and he has the ability to carry the momentum into this week and contend. I don’t know what has happened to Burns this season, but he is fortunate just to be in the Top 50.
Moore, Taylor -115 vs. Theegala, Sahith
Moore sure looked good last week and he may be able to carry the momentum to this week. Theegala ranks very poorly on the PGA Tour in total driving and driving is a key stat this week. I’ll go against Theegala and take Moore in this matchup.
Poston, J.T. -120 vs. McCarthy, Denny
The strength for McCarthy is his putting, but this course demands good driving more than it does putting, so I think McCarthy is at a disadvantage this week. I’ll take Poston in this matchup.
