MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Monday, August 28
August 25, 2023College Football Week 1 Saturday Picks, Predictions, and Odds
August 28, 2023It’s incredible, but we took a fourth straight collar with last Sunday’s MLB Same Game Parlays at PointsBet Sportsbook. Truth be told, none of the parlays even came close to cashing in. I expected fireworks in the pitching showdown between Bido and Keuchel and we got a 2-0 final. I expected the Cubs to knock Jordan Lyles out early and he pitched a complete game in a losing effort. Then I decided to back Hunter Greene in his return from the IL and the Dodgers lit him up like a Christmas tree. We weren’t even in the stratosphere of cashing a single SGP. Let’s see if we can stop the bleeding with today’s parlay picks and close the week in the green – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

Cleveland Indians vs. Toronto Blue Jays
This series is huge for both the Guardians and Blue Jays with each currently on the outside looking into the postseason. Cleveland has likely has no shot of cashing in as a wild-card with it 11.5-games back, but Terry Francona’s troops only find themselves 4.5-games in back of the front running Twins with the division rivals still set to lock horns six more times the remainder of the baseball betting season. As for Toronto, it’s got a much better shot of qualifying for the playoffs as a wild-card sitting two-games out of that race as opposed to 8.5 back in the AL East. Though Noah Syndergaard just tossed six innings of 3 ER ball at the Dodgers to help lead the team to a win, I’m not buying the righty succeeding against Vlad Guerrero Jr. and co. Yusei Kikuchi was cruising up until his last start at the Orioles and now gets the pleasure of throwing at a Cleveland offense that owns a league-worst .643 against LHP and averages short of 4.0 runs per game (No. 25). Toronto defends its house!

Oakland A’s vs. Chicago White Sox
We got our money back fading Mike Clevinger in his last turn after the Mariners got to him for 4 ER through five innings. I still can’t believe those seven innings of shutout ball he threw in the start prior at Wrigley! That being said, I’m going to bank on the right-hander showing up for this one against an embarrassing A’s outfit that could go down in the history books as the worst to ever play the game. The offense can’t hit (No. 30). Can’t score runs (No. 30) And can’t do damage when it does hit the ball (No. 30)! And then there’s the White Sox who’ve been almost as embarrassing but even more disappointing with it expected to compete for AL Central bragging rights at the season’s outset. Paul Blackburn is arguably the best arm Oakland has to offer right now! Believe it or not, bit the A’s have actually won five of his last six starts and his ERA clocks in at 2.19 through four August starts. It’s going to be a beautiful day on the Southside Sunday afternoon after a week of excessive heat. Look for the fatigue to set in and keep this one of the lower scoring variety.
MLB SAME GAME PARLAY: FULL GAME UNDER + BLACKBURN OVER PITCHING OUTS
San Diego Padres vs. Milwaukee Brewers
The Friars’ bats finally get a reprieve in Sunday’s series finale running up against Adrian Houser after staring back at Brandon Woodruff and Freddy Peralta in the first two games. After backing the under in last night’s matchup between Darvish and Peralta, I expect some runs to hit the board in the finale and demand most of the damage be done by Fernando Tatis Jr. and his mates! I’ve come away impressed with the way Michael Wacha has handled himself since coming off the IL back on August 15. He’s thrown 10.1 innings of eight hit and 3 ER ball while registering a 12:3 K/BB ratio. Milwaukee has failed to get the bats going against RHP all season evidenced by a .686 OPS (No. 26), and Wacha’s limited current Brewers bats to a .238 batting average throughout his career. Adrian Houser has been handled by every NL West opponent he’s run up against to date, and I expect today proves to be no different.
