September 8, 2023We cashed one of three Sunday MLB Same Game Parlays at PointsBet Sportsbook to snap an egregious month-long streak of taking the collar each and every time. Though Toronto got Syndergaard for 5 ER through 6 IP, the bullpen blew it late before the Blue Jays went on to lose 10-7 in extras. Michael Wacha looked locked in through five innings with San Diego up 4-2, but then he imploded and the Padres pen allowed seven runs in the bottom of the sixth to lose 10-6. The lone SGP winner proved to be the one involving the A’s of all teams with the under coming in and Blackburn going over his pitching outs prop. Let’s see if we can’t finally get in the black on a Sunday with today’s parlay picks and close the week in the green – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

Baltimore Orioles vs. Boston Red Sox
After backing Bradish and the O’s in Saturday’s matchup at Fenway, we’ll jump ship and hitch our wagon to Brayan Bello and the Red Sox in the series finale. I was bullish on Jack Flaherty getting out of St. Louis initially to pitch for a contender, but the change of city and playing for a World Series contender has done little if anything to change the course of the right-hander’s 2023 campaign. Save for that opening start against Toronto in which he tossed six innings of 1 ER ball, it’s been all downhill with the righty yet to log another quality start all the while conceding 17 ER and nine walks through 17.2 innings of work – not good! Brayan Bello will without a doubt be an arm I look to target early in my fantasy baseball home league next season with the righty thoroughly impressing en route to logging a 3.61 ERA and 113:38 K/BB ratio through 137 total innings of work. He gets the added benefit of Ced Mullins and Co. not seeing his stuff to date, while the Red Sox will also be looking to bounce back after getting swept by the Astros the last time they played in front of the Beantown faithful.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Chicago Cubs
Not a once have I gotten involved in every game of a particular series to date, but I simply can’t overlook backing the Cubs in the finale with the Diamondbacks seriously marching Brandon Pfaadt to the bump. The rookie has been a huge disappointment for Arizona with the right-hander clocking in 1-7 with a bloated 6.21 ERA and 1.42 WHIP all the while serving up 10.0 hits and 2.2 home runs per nine innings. Since becoming a permanent fixture in the Snakes starting rotation at the end of July, Arizona has managed just three wins in his eight made starts with not one occurring when pitching away from the desert. Though Kyle Hendricks is the owner of a losing 5-7 record, the veteran righty is still the owner of a 3.59 ERA and logged a 58 percent quality start percentage. While he’s had some issues dealing with Zona’s bats in the past, I fully expect Seiya Suzuki and Co. to give him enough run support to allow him to do his thing and claw one game close towards logging a .500 overall record.

Cleveland Guardians vs. Los Angeles Angels
Let me start by saying I should probably stay as far away from this matchup as possible as poisonous the Guardians and Angels have been to my bottom line this baseball betting season. That being said, I can’t help but buy into the intrigue of Lucas Giolito returning to the ball park of the team that went out and traded for him at the trade deadline only to DFA him weeks later after stinking up the joint. I’m firmly aware he stunk out of the gates for Cleveland as well giving up 9 ER and 3 HR through seven innings, but I think he’ll be dead set on putting his best foot forward and take it to a Halos outfit that’ll be marching a skeleton crew into the batter’s box for him to take advantage of over the course of his start. I think it’ll be his best showing in weeks! Reid Detmers has shown glimpses of future stardom many times, but MLB bettors simply just don’t know what to expect whenever he takes to the bump. Current Guardians sticks are batting .311 against him with Kole Calhoun and Jose Ramirez doing a bunch of the damage. Cleveland is the only one of these teams with something left to play for, and it’ll show in the series finale.
