MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions-Wednesday, September 13
September 12, 2023New York Jets Futures in Freefall after Rodgers Injury
September 12, 2023The PGA Tour has gone back to a calendar-year schedule, but there will still be events in the fall, as the PGA Tour is calling it FedExCup Fall where the final top 125 for next season is set. Winners get the same two-year PGA Tour exemption and FedExCup points. That means we will probably see a few top players on occasion who play in these fall events. World No. 7 Max Homa leads the field this week for the Fortinet Championship and he is the betting favorite at BetRivers. Homa is listed with odds of +650 and he is well clear of the second choice in the betting, Justin Thomas, who is listed at +1400. Max Homa will be trying to become the first player to win the same event in three straight years since Steve Stricker won the John Deere Classic from 2009 through 2011. Let’s look at Fortinet Championship picks.
Venue: The North course at Silverado Resort and Spa is a par 72 that measures 7,166 yards.
Last Year: Max Homa benefited greatly from the collapse of Danny Willett to win. It was a win that Homa had no business getting, but Homa gave himself a chance when he chipped in for birdie on the 18th hole. Homa and Willett started the final round a shot behind Justin Lower but it quickly became a two-man contest, as Lower couldn’t stay with Homa and Willett. It was Willett leading by one shot with four holes to go. Homa and Willett both parred the next three holes so Willett had a one-shot leading heading to 18. Willett hit his third shot to just under four feet for birdie. Homa didn’t reach the green with his third shot out of the sand so it looked like a sure win for Willett. Homa holed his 32-foot chip shot for birdie, but Willett just needed to make his four-foot putt for birdie to win. Willett missed the putt and hit it five feet past and Willett missed the par putt, giving the win to Homa. Taylor Montgomery finished in third, while Ben An and Justin Lower finished in a tie for fourth.

Homa, Max +650
You should know by now that golf betting favorites simply don’t win enough to be profitable on any golf tour. I like Homa and his game and he is the two-time defending champion of the Fortinet Championship, but I don’t bet favorites except on extremely rare occasions. Maybe Homa wins this, but I am not taking him at odds this low.
Value Picks
Theegala, Sahith +1800
Is this where Theegala finally gets his first PGA Tour win? It sure could be, as Theegala is ranked in the Top 40 in the latest world golf rankings. The field is not that strong this week and Theegala should have a good chance to contend for the win.
Davis, Cameron +2200
Davis could be a player to watch this season. He is coming off his best year on the PGA Tour and he is not that far away from a Top 50 ranking. He had a number of Top 10 finishes last season and he has played well at Silverado in the past. I give him a chance to be in the mix this week.
Putnam, Andrew +2500
There is no question that Putnam kind of gets ignored in PGA Tour odds. He has played well this year with a couple of top five finishes and he is one of the better putters on the PGA Tour.
Hossler, Beau +3300
Hossler played well last season and his strength is driving, and hitting the ball long and straight will definitely be important this week. Hossler has put himself in position to win in the past and this week he gets the benefit of playing against a weak field.
Thompson, Davis +4500
It was just a year ago that Thompson was 5th in this tournament heading into Sunday. He had some nice finishes a year ago and he should do even better this season with a year under his belt on the PGA Tour.
