Luis Alberto Lopez vs. Joet Gonzalez Picks, Predictions, and Odds
September 13, 2023Kansas Posts Solid Numbers in First Year
September 13, 2023The PGA Tour gets back into action this week with the Fortinet Championship in Napa, California. It is part of the FedExCup Fall schedule where players who are not already confirmed for next year’s PGA Tour can earn points to qualify for the Top 125. That doesn’t mean we won’t see a few big names from time to time, as this week Max Homa and Justin Thomas lead the field. Homa is the favorite in golf betting odds at BetRivers, while Thomas is the second choice. We are definitely glad to see normal tournaments for the golf betting matchups, as we struggled a bit during the FedExCup Playoffs. We’ll look to do well on this FedExCup Fall schedule and we’ll start with five matchups. Let’s look at Fortinet Championship matchup picks.
Defending Champion: Max Homa
Tournament Notes: There are seven tournaments in the FedExCup Fall schedule starting with the Fortinet Championship. Silverado is a par 72 that measures about 7,200 yards. It is a course with narrow fairways and it also has well placed bunkers and a little bit of water. The greens are big this week, so the premium is on driving and approaches. The weather this week should be excellent, so scoring should be very good. Max Homa will be looking to win this event for the third straight year. No one has pulled off a three-peat on the PGA Tour since Steve Stricker more than a decade ago.

Higgo, Garrick -115 vs. Bezuidenhout, Christiaan
Suh, Justin -114 vs. Bezuidenhout, Christiaan
Suh is coming off a tie for 24th at the Omega European Masters a couple of weeks ago. He is usually very strong off the tee and his putting is strong, as he ranks in a tie for 5th in Strokes Gained: Putting. I’ll lay the small price and take Suh in this matchup.
Hubbard, Mark -120 vs. Pendrith, Taylor
Hubbard has played well in this event in the past with three Top 25 finishes in his last four tries. He finished 67th in the FedExCup standings last season, so he has no pressure on him t his week. I’ll take Hubbard at the short golf betting price in this matchup.
Davis, Cam -140 vs. Herbert, Lucas
Davis has played well of late with three top 10 finishes. He ranks highly in a couple of key categories for this week. He is tie for 8th in par-5 scoring and he is tied for 26th in Shots Gained: Tee-to-Green. I’ll lay the golf odds and take Davis in this matchup.
Thompson, Davis -120 vs. Hardy, Nick
Thompson has finished well in three of his last four starts and he played well in the Fortinet Championship a year ago, as he tied for ninth. I’ll take Thompson at the short price in this matchup.
Wu, Dylan -114 vs. Eckroat, Austin
Wu is coming off a nice season, as he had a couple of top 10 finishes and six other top 30 finishes. He played well at the 3M Open where he tied for 5th. He should do well at Silverado where par-5 scoring is important. He ranks 13th on the PGA Tour in that category. I’ll take Wu in this golf betting matchup.
