Kansas Posts Solid Numbers in First Year
September 13, 2023College Football Week 3 Parlay Best Bets
September 14, 2023Many sportsbooks will be anxiously following the Colorado Buffaloes’ game once again this week. Colorado was the most popular bet at several sportsbooks in Week 1 and Week 2, and the Buffs made the books pay in a big way. They won outright as a three-touchdown underdog per the CFB betting odds in their season opener, and they covered all numbers in a blowout of Nebraska last Saturday. Now, the spotlight will be fully shining on the Buffaloes as both ESPN and FOX will be out in Boulder for Colorado’s game against in-state rival Colorado State. Millions will tune in to their Big Noon Saturday game on FOX for the third straight week even though the Buffs are expected to blow out the Rams according to the football betting line.

MOST HEAVILY BET GAMES OF WEEK 3
COLORADO VS. COLORADO STATE
We have already seen a ton of line movement with Colorado this week. The Buffaloes opened up as a 20-point favorite at home against Colorado State, but that hasn’t scared anyone away that made money on the Buffs the last two weeks. The line for the Rocky Mountain Showdown has jumped from 20 to 23 points even though Colorado State has had two weeks to prepare for this game.
Colorado State was blown out by Washington State in Fort Collins two weeks ago. The Cougars racked up 556 total yards and 30 first downs to win by a margin of 50-24 even though they turned the ball over twice. The Rams benefited from a 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and a 75-yard touchdown pass after Wazzou was up 33 points, so the advanced metrics are not fans of the underdogs coming into this matchup.
EASTERN MICHIGAN VS. MASSACHUSETTS
Although the Massachusetts Minutemen have won a game, they are still one of the three worst teams in the country according to SP+. Since Mark Whipple was fired at the conclusion of the 2018 season, the Minutemen have never won more than a single game per season, and they are 1-3 against FCS opponents. It’s very likely that this will be their best campaign in five years as UMass went on the road and beat New Mexico State by 11 points in its season opener, and we have seen some sharp action on the Minutemen over the last couple days.
Eastern Michigan opened as a 10-point favorite by the football betting odds that were released on Sunday. However, that number has since dropped to seven points after the Eagles were held to just six points and 152 total yards of offense by Minnesota last week. It was the second straight iffy performance from the offense as Eastern Michigan had just 285 total yards of offense against FCS side Howard and largely prevailed thanks to a safety and two kickoff return touchdowns. UMass has shown that it can move the ball a little, so the Minutemen could win this game outright.
TEXAS A&M VS. LOUISIANA-MONROE
At the start of the season, many pundits prognosticated that Louisiana-Monroe would be the worst team in the FBS this season. The Warhawks proved that wasn’t the case with a surprising win over Army in Week 1 as a double-digit home underdog by the college football wagering odds, and they moved to 2-0 with a 24-14 win over FCS Lamar last week.
However, Louisiana-Monroe has risen from a 31.5-point underdog to a 36-point underdog against Texas A&M this weekend. The Warhawks have moved to a triple option attack, going against the grain, and they have two quarterbacks that have combined to complete 27 of 53 passes for 190 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. That woeful passing attack won’t be able to move the chains through the air against the Aggies, and it’s unlikely the ground game has much success either.
This has the potential to turn into the biggest FBS rout of the weekend. Texas A&M wants to get the bad taste out of its mouth after last week’s loss to Miami, and the Aggies’ faithful would be at least mollified for a short time by blasting a bad team like Louisiana-Monroe.
